Fwd: Net groupmap list puzzler
Hi,
I think at first you have to do a net groupmap add all the well known Groups.

Builtin group mapping problem with latest from git
Hi,
I'm trying to run the latest samba from git for the first time in order
to finalize a patch to submit for a bug that I've been working on. I'm
running Fedora 11 and everything is tested and working on that with
samba 3.4.2. I got the latest version from git (3.6.0) ran configure and
make OK, and installed it. The built smbd and winbindd run fine, but
trying to access the machine

Time to straighten out groupmap
I need to clean up the groupmap setup - samba 3.0.0 / ldapsam
Although I'm spitting out a fair amount of information, I'm going to
concentrate on the Administrators entry which appears twice, this
doesn't seem good...
# net groupmap list

If Administrator doesn't have a uidNumber, it will not be known to the
Unix host, this is why you either have to give Administrator a uidNumber

Problems with administrator account
Hi guys,
I am working with Aurelien.
On the DC, there is no UID/GID mapping (nsswitch not being modify as the
wiki say that on a DC it's not needed).
The primary group of Administrator is 513 (taken from the Attribute editor
on ADUC) primaryGroupID : 513 (Domain Users)
If i add Everybody to the Share tab, i can access to the security Tab and
edit permissions. As he said the only user

winbind: BUILTIN\users group gid 1001 conflict
Hi everybody,
I've joined a fileserver running samba 3.0.24 to an AD domain using
winbind and noticed that samba maps the "users" group SID (5-1-5-32-545)
to gid 1001 automatically. This seems to conflict with one of ~2000
mappings I had to "inject" in winbinds winbindd_idmap.tdb by use of net
idmap dump/restore, because the fileserver had millions of files with

net rpc rights list accounts -U'DOMAIN\administrator'

Problems with winbind, idmap and usrmgr.exe
I am trying to get two Samba PDC/Domains setup with a trust between
them. They are separate domains because they are separate companies
(one is a subsidiary of the other) located in different cites.
I am using Centos 5.1 x86_64 and Samba 3.0.28a packages built by me from
Fedora 8 source RPMs.
Based on what I have read, in order to do the trust thing I need to use
Winbind/idmap to handle the non

net groupmap problem
Hi list,
I'm having problems removing entries using net groupmap. When I use net
groupmap ntgroup="Domain Guests" I see a message saying it has been
successfully removed Domain Guests from the mapping db. The problem is I
have multiple Domain Guests with the same sid. Can someone please tell me
how to remove duplicates?. I've also tried net groupmap delete

BUILTIN\Administrators - failed to call wbcSidToUid: WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
I do think its a classic upgrade from 3.x to 4.x that causes this.
And the samba 3 was a samba with smbldap-tools
or configured with something like : net groupmap add ntgroup="Domain Admins" unixgroup=domadm rid=512 type=d
( as shown here https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/groupmapping.html )

how to let windbind to use LOCAL groupmaps?
Hi,
I'm trying to join ?linux machines to AD domain with the help of winbind.
In order to make account managent more easier, I want to create
corresponding group maps from every linux native group, then join
domain users/groups to the new LOCAL groupmap.
At present, BUILTIN groupmap works fine with the steps:
net groupmap add sid=S-1-5-32-544 unixgroup=admin
ntgroup=BUILTIN\\Administrators

Problems with administrator account
I have a mapping beetween administrator and root on my fileserver, i sent you yesterday. My administrator account didn't have uid.
I didnt have mapping or winbindd on my DC. The wiki says it's optional and i have separate my fileserver to my DC.
So id administrator didn't return anything on DC or on Fileserver.
My probleme is that :
Administrator is a member of "domain
