Dynamix 650 VA USB UPS
Hi James, I'm referring to your post here: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2010-September/006201.html Have you got by chance any more info on the Dyamix 1000VA model? I was foolish to buy the USB version because it had a better display on the front. Is there any way to get this to go? I have tried all the USB drivers in NUT (on pfsense 2.0RC1) and none do anything

[klibc 14/43] Remove in-kernel nfsroot code
The in-kernel nfsroot code is obsoleted by kinit. Remove it; it causes conflicts. Signed-off-by: H. GLM for Beta distribution
Hi R-help, Is there such a thing as a function in R for fitting a GLM where the response is distributed as a Beta distribution? In my case, the response variable is a percentage ([0,1] and continuous). The current glm() function in R doesn't include the Beta distribution. Thank you for any help on this topic. Sincerely, Sharon K?hlmann

R-scripts as executables for debian
Hi, I'm looking for a way to make executable R-scripts -- which are bound to a certain package -- available to the operating system's search path. The executable R-scripts I put in the package's 'exec' directory. Different solutions have come to my mind: o 'configure'-script copies the files to /usr/local/bin o make a 'require'-shell function which

Mixture of Univariate Normals
Dear list, Can anyone provide a package or code for estimating the parameters of a mixture of c (c >=2) univariate normal distributions? I've tried the algorithm provided by Venables & Ripley (1999) p 263, for the mixture of two normal, but I don't find the "ms" function in R. I've used nls instead, but I'm not sure if it works the same. The data I have is very

rsync parameters errors
In my new bash script, I'm doing what I think is a very simple rsync command the way I'm used to doing it. I just do a lot of setup and checking before I get to it. When I run it, it gets very unhappy with me. It's probably something very simple. I need to build the rsync command in a string so that some things can go away - like if my variables DRY_RUN and DELETE are undefined,

Aranda-Ornaz links for binary data
Hi, I would like apply different link functions from Aranda-Ordaz (1981) family to large binary dataset (n = 2000). The existing links in glm for binomial data (logit, probit, cloglog) are not adequate for my data, and I need to test some other transformations. Is it possible to do this in R? And how? Thank you for your help, /Sharon

Potential incompatibilities between '--delete' and --copy-unsafe-symlinks' ???
Hi, New to this list, but long-time (appreciative) user of rsync. Grateful for any help with my problem here... In particular, I've been having long-standing issues (just now getting around to trying to resolve them) when I use rsync with '--copy-unsafe-links' alongside the '--delete' parameter. If I use either of these two parameters in isolation (along with other shared

Convergence in geese/gee
We are currently analyzing data on children clustered in day care-centers (DCC). We have tried to use geepack and gee libraries to estimate an overall incidence rate for absences (=number of absences/risk time) by specifying geese(number.absences ~ offset(log(risktime)), id=day.care.id, family=poisson("log"), data=dcc, corstr="exch",

Location of boxplots in bwplot
Hi, I am trying to adjust the position of the boxplots when using bwplot(). In boxplot() there is the alternative to modify the position of the boxes by using boxplot(y~x, at=...). However, I don't seem to find a comparable option in bwplot(). I would like in some instances to add more space between the boxplots, e.g. that I could specify at=c(1, 2, 5, 6) so that the first two boxplots are

Dynamix 1000 VA USB and NUT
Hi Volker Kuhlmann and Richard Nelson, As both of you are interested in where I got up to with getting my Dynamix 1000 VA UPS working with Linux, here is the details. It works.. But not too well, as the driver still seems to need some work, and is not in the main nut source as far as I know. It also seems to sometimes not respond when it should. The manufacture has uses the same format as

rsync'ing an rdiff-backup repository
I'm rsync'ing an rdiff-backup repository to a different machine and I have a few questions I'm hoping you guys can help me out with. Should I use --archive? Or maybe -rlD instead? Can I restrict an SSH key to rsync? I can do it with rdiff-backup with command="rdiff-backup --server" but I can't figure out how to do it with rsync. The rdiff-backup repository I'm

netfilter+libvirt=(smth got broken?)
Hello, I'm having problem setting up filtering traffic for a virtual machine managed by libvirt. Strange thing is, such a setup has been working fine for me on an older version of distro (namely, opensuse 11.3 w/updates, kernel 2.6.34, libvirt 0.8.8) but refused to work on shiny new opensuse 12.4 (kernel 3.7.10, libvirt 1.0.2). The definition of filter in question is pretty simple:

Drive problem
I was rsync'ing data from one system to another, and the recipient suddenly started throwing DRDY errors. Now, it's a fairly new WD Red 3TB, and I'd think it was just a bad drive... but I'm really confused by this, from the logs: Jun 15 15:34:43 <servername> kernel: ata3: SError: { Dispar } Dispar? And googling, every reference I find to that word always has something else

[Bug 1213] ssh-keyscan exits in mid-way
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1213 --- Comment #43 from Daniel Richard G. <skunk at iSKUNK.ORG> --- And a year later, this issue still afflicts OpenSSH 6.1p1 (as packaged by Ubuntu). Aab's patch still applies, if fuzzily, and still hardens up ssh-keyscan so that it can deal with my company's network. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the

rsync'ing samba shares
I know this has come up a bit in the past, but consider this situation: Two Samba4 DC's - and I want to "mirror" the data shares to the "backup" DC in case we lose the primary DC and it's file shares. [A cheap, dirty, poor-mans semi-CTDB. How did you ever guess that Red Green was helping me?!] The easiest way is probably rsync'ing the data. However, will that
