Dovecot Dsync
Hi, Sorry to bump it, but I've yet to receive even one reply to my question the other day about Dsync ? Everyone else seems to have been receiving replies to their questions and so I'm feeling a little lonely out in the cold. I can't believe nobody on-list uses Dsync ? Ben

Help needed with SOLR integration
Hi, Is there anything wrong with this config for getting SOLR working ? I'm on Ubuntu 12.04LTS and using the bundled Jetty and SOLR. Calling "http://localhost:8080/solr/update?optimize=true" doesn't return an error. And I'm pretty sure I've replaced the schema ? Help & thanks in advance Nigel # 2.0.19: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 3.5.0-37-generic

verbose_proctitle cuts dsync to proctitle to "dsyn"
Hi Timo, little cosmetic bug report: using "verbose_proctitle = yes" shortens the proctitle of dsync to just "dsyn". Example: Note the whitespace instead of the 'c' in the proctitle: root at m-st-01:~# ps auwwwx | grep [d]syn virtmail 18141 13.0 0.1 49916 7952 pts/6 R+ 00:49 0:00 dsyn -v -u xxyyzz7 -R backup maildir:/staging/xxyyzz7/Maildir With

dsync SSL fails since 2.2.15
Hello list, dovecot ran rock-solid on OSX Mavericks for about 1 year replicating my mail between 2 servers via dsync with SSL as that is well described here: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Replication After upgrading to 2.2.15, dsync gets stuck with the Error: "Received invalid SSL certificate" even though neither any of the dovecot configs nor the certs, keys or the CA have changed! When I

dsync: error with hierarchy separator
Hi list! I have a problem with transfering mails from mbox to maildir format. On dovecot wiki I found a dsync tool, which looks good, but returns me an error: # dsync -u mail at example.com mirror mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/virtuser_808 dsync(root): Fatal: Mail locations must use the same virtual mailbox hierarchy separator (specify separator for the default namespace) I found a solution with

Mail being delivered but MUA showing empty inbox
Dovecot :? 2.0.19 (see config at http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=KMaQ9Ccc) Postfix :? 2.9.6 (see config at http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=EEeevHfk) I'm trying to get Dovecot and Postfix working on Ubuntu 12.04LTS but am not having much luck. The problem is that although mail gets delivered to the correct place, however pointing a MUA of any description at Dovecot just yields a purportedly empty

2.3.11.3: dsync failure
Hello! dovecot 2.3.11.3 fails to backup/sync my mailbox. The mailbox is currently in mdbox format and is (mostly) lz4-compressed. See the trace below (I've added newlines to the output): # doveadm -v backup -u username mdbox:/var/vmail/username_new/mdbox dsync(username): Panic: file istream.c: line 332 (i_stream_read_memarea): assertion failed: (!stream->blocking) dsync(username): Error:

Trying Dovecot Replication with dsync
Hi, I have a failover cluster for mail server with: Ubuntu12.04 + DRBD (for block replication) + Ext4 filesystem + Dovecot-2.0.19-2 with Mdbox It works fine with ~50k accounts. My cluster design: http://adminlinux.com.br/cluster_design.txt I plan to test Dovecot Replication with dsync to build an active/active cluster with load balancing. Can anyone direct me to some literature? A tutorial

dsync: assert panic on mbox // no INBOX sync on hybrid mbox/maildir
Hi, replying to my own issue: The dsync crash seems to be triggered when there are emails to copy in both directions, and it's fairly clear from comments in the code that it should be releasing a read lock before trying to grab a write lock. A work-around for the crash was doing a one-way sync manually. This allowed the process to complete and my setup is now replicating properly. I guess

flags not synced correctly with dovecot sync (dsync)
I should add that these problems arise frequently in practice, even if changes are only being made on a single machine, e.g. laptop1. Flag changes on laptop1 propagate to server, but then are reverted on server when laptop2 syncs with server, and then are reverted on laptop1 when it syncs again with server. If I redo the flag changes on laptop1, the process just repeats and they are removed

dsync crash
Hello, I am getting a persistent seg fault while trying to sync our server to a new location. We are on 2.2.33.2, due for an upgrade but we have used dsync successfully in the past. In fact, we used it to populate this same instance. So I hope this is just a configuration issue. My logs are being filled with these errors:: 2019-07-10T08:29:53-04:00 localhost dovecot: [ID 583609 mail.crit]

Can't take user info from an alternate file
I'm positive I did everything right to get Dovecot to take usernames and passwords from /etc/dovecot/users, but it still goes for /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. The format of /etc/dovecot/users is "alice:{PLAIN}plaintextpassword" Here's my "doveconf -n": # 2.0.19: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 3.2.0-51-virtual x86_64 Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS auth_debug = yes

flags not synced correctly with dovecot sync (dsync)
I'm running dovecot 2.3.4.1 from https://repo.dovecot.org/ on Ubuntu 18.04 on three machines that I'll call server, laptop1 and laptop2. Both laptop1 and laptop2 run dovecot sync against server to keep local copies of my imap folders. Even when I initially had only two machines, laptop1 and server, I occasionally noticed that flags were lost, usually custom flags used by Gnus, but I

Replication fails with dsync-server(admin@asergis.com): Error: Couldn't create lock /home/admin/.dovecot-sync.lock: No such file or directory
Hello I have configured replication using dsync. It fails with a message Error: Couldn't create lock /home/admin/.dovecot-sync.lock: No such file or directory This directory predictably does not exist - all my users are supposed to be virtual.? I can not find an option to switch this off. At the same time if I try manual replication I get segfault error Mar 30 17:17:24

I've run into a problem with `doveadm backup` (2.2 rc2 and 20130226) I did not notice in 2.1.15 doveadm backup [-Dv] -R -u cyrtest1 at iai.uni-bonn.de -m INBOX imapc: => crashes (signal 6 with acl plugin configured, sig 11 without acl) If this is considered a bug (not just because of the crash but in the meaning of "my configuration should work") it would be great if it could be
