pop3 rate limit
Hi,
we have customers with Exchange servers that are polling for new mail every minute with dozens of pop3 accounts. I am looking for a mechanism to rate limit this per user. So what I am looking for is a way to block users from polling, if a user asks for new mail more than every 5 minutes (for example).
Is this possible? Can this be achieved within Dovecot or does it need external scripting?

RFC: Introducing an LLVM Community Code of Conduct

I have slight reservations towards this. A general conduct email is good,
but there are cases where you would like to contact individuals.
This is for example, when the report goes against a member of the conduct
team itself or the LLVM core

Hash Verification with doveadm
Hello!
I have a problem with the doveadm tool. I?m trying to verify a hash from my MySQL-Db with the following command:
doveadm pw -p '123' -t '{SHA512-CRYPT}$6$e3TLkiahfHFv29/J$8etBEtmbh06B72kc1TpetT/k8aHkQrJAPQVpTGDYuzyHZX4MwU2PeL2cIupNEoUUGt6SLB0N7xNqbbqp/5OZo.'
I'm expecting that it says verified or not, but it prompts for a password, so the ?-p? parameter does not work.

After talking to z00dax on irc, I'm interested to help with ipv6 documentation

I work at afrinic (an RiR) where we have around 50% of our machines running
CentOS with ipv6 configured.
Afrinic is also involved in pushing for IPv6 for the African continent.
My login id on the wiki is:

SOLR quick and dirty how to - needs review/testing
Hi,
I just wrote a quick and dirty how to. But not sure, if that is done the way it should. So any kind of feedback is welcome.

At least the stuff does not break things here :-)
Kind regards

[LLVMdev] Linkage error in simple call graph pass?
Evening All,
So I need a call graph pass and having done several other passes, I went to work on a simple pass, inheriting from CallGraphSCCPass.
However, while I was quickly able to build the pass, when I went to run it I got the following:
opt -load ../Passes/HierchalFunctions/Hierchal/hierchal.dylib -hierchal < hello.bc > /dev/null

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev][llvmdev] Clang 3.6 and trunk, high RSS usage compared to GCC (12.5GB vs. 0.5GB)
Hi,
I found that after moving to Clang pre-3.6 (git
65d8b4c4998b3a0c20934ea72ede72ef4838a004) and trunk (git
718825a8666acd9ceaab70fc7868332f20e2758f) our internal build machines started
going offline in Jenkins. Clang after 3.5 release is consuming extreme amounts
of memory in some cases.
I have uploaded [1] one of affected files.

quota warning for fs quota
Hello,
I configured my Dovecot to use filesystem (fs) quota. It works fine,
the correct free/used space and percentage is being shown to the
client. However, the warning feature doesn't seem to work, no mail is
being sent, although executing the script standalone works fine.
Is quota warning for fs quota supported? I use Dovecot 1.0.10 (Ubuntu package).
Thanks,
Florian

Hello

my problem is to configure quota-warning message :
1) if no quota_rule is defined then my dovecot-debug.log looks like

Errors in log file
Hi,
just wonder about some errors I found with:
doveadm log errors:
?
Dec 16 17:21:55 imap(roessner@****): Error: stat(/srv/mail/virtual/*****/roessner/.dovecot.sieve/tmp) failed: Not a directory

And this is correct, it is a link:

I do not see, where I have an error in my config ;)

quota-fs: get nfs GROUP quota (patch)
Hi all. Unfortunately, the existing quota-fs does not know how to get
GROUP quota with NFS storage. But there is a tool for Linux quota-tools
(http://slackware.rol.ru/slackware/slackware-12.2/source/a/quota/). This
patch is made on the basis quota-tools. The patch was successful alpha
testing. Suggestions and comments are welcome.

quota fs: Support for hardlimit quotas (where softquota is unset)
Hi,
included is patch which adds support for calculating fs quota from hardlimit where softlimit is unset. I'm usually not setting softlimit on my server causing dovecot work incorrectly (not reporting quota at all).

German Umlauts in folder name and sieve
Hi,
I had created an imap folder that has German Umlauts in it:
?RA R??ner - Merle?
When finished, the result looks like this on filesystem:
drwx------ 3 vmail vmail 4096 Dec 27 11:02 RA Ro&AwgA3w-ner - Merle/
I wrote this sieve script (with SOGo):
if anyof (address :regex "from" "@.*\\.ra-roessner-merle\\.de") {
fileinto "RA Ro&AwgA3w-ner - Merle";

fs quota and sieve script - other place for compiled script
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello,
lately I deployed a Sieve script for all accounts, even those already
overquota. I use fs quota, which leaded to the problem that that the
compiled script could not spooled into the home directory - because of the
"Over quota" condition.
Although Sieve is not directly related to the mail storage, it would be a
good thing to have

beta1: assert due to hard fs quota
Hi,
In the "for what it is worth" category... The following
assert popped up in beta1 on Solaris 9 this morning:
imap(user): file mail-index-view-sync.c: line 155
(view_sync_get_expunges): assertion failed: (ret == 0)
The user had hit a hard disk quota on their home directory,
ie where the indexes go. Dovecot cored with a zero-byte
core file in the user's home directory,
