Dsync confusion...
Hi, Maybe I've been staring at config files and man pages too long, but the doc page for Dsync is a little confusing and I don't how to solve my problem. I've probably missed something simple and stupid, but as I said, I've been staring at this problem too long and need a second pair of eyes on it ! Per doveconf below the user/owner for auth db is a user with shell

Problems joining a Samba PDC controlled Domain
Hello, I'm having problems to join a japanese W2K Client with SrvPck 2 installed to my samba 2.2.5 PDC controlled domain. Other Clients are no problem (Win98, W2k engl., WXP german). I check the regKey (for plaintextpassword; set to 1). Reinstalled SevPck 2, but didn't help. the problem must be on Client side because I having the same problem when jooining a other samba controlled

Samba encrypt passwd
Hi, I have samba installed on my Linux system (Red Hat 7.2), and Windows 98 on another PC as a Samba client. Samba works great if PlainTextPassword is enabled. However, if PlainTextPassword is disabled on Windows client, connection to the Samba shares no longer accepted. I believe I've done everything in order to make encrypt passwd working: * I converted /etc/passwd to

Help needed with SOLR integration
Hi, Is there anything wrong with this config for getting SOLR working ? I'm on Ubuntu 12.04LTS and using the bundled Jetty and SOLR. Calling "http://localhost:8080/solr/update?optimize=true" doesn't return an error. And I'm pretty sure I've replaced the schema ? Connecting to Win2000 drive with samba
I am not quite use how to do this. I shared a drive in my win2000 box, and performed the following in my linux box : smbclient -W workgroup -U [username] -L [machine nmb_name] and i get the following result when input the password : session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_TYPE_NOT_GRANTED but when use all caps for password I get : session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE so my

win2000 plaintext password
This is probably an FAQ, but my looking into the issue was unproductive. When connecting to a samba share from a win2000 professional machine, I get prompted for a password. Security is set to user on the samba machine. I reenter the same password as the local user that I login as, and then it accepts it. I'm not using encrypted passwords, but I have added the PlainTextPassword registry

Initialization Failed:
Hi dovecotters I am trying to install dovecot on a mail server I am provisioning for myself in AWS. I am following an ArsTechnica guide, and at some stage in the process the author recommends and provides instructions to configure Dovecot (http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2014/03/taking-e-mail-back-part-2-arming-your-server-with-postfix-dovecot/4/) So, now I have it installed

NTLM authentication with Outlook 2010
All, I have a Ubuntu 12.04.2 box running Dovecot 2.0.19. I have it configured for our active directory. WBinfo and ntlm_auth work great. I am trying to get sso to work with ntlm. Gssapi with thunderbird works like it should. I just cant get ntlm with outlook 2010 to work for sso. I get prompted for my password each time I open outlook. I have attached my config for dovecot. Any help would

Can't save to folders
When I login through imap, I can see everything in ~/mail/ just fine. I cannot save to any of them. If I have an autocreate-autosubscribe folder (ZZZ here), it shows up as empty (correct). Then if I save something to it through imap, a file ~/mail/ZZZ appears, but nothing actually gets saved to it. allowing shell users to change passwords
Does anyone else here have a need to allow shell users to change their imap/pop3 passwords? I came up with a little thing that works similarly to regular passwd(1), dovepasswd, which can be found at https://github.com/DavidGriffith/dovepasswd. It does the job for me and I'd love for other people to take a look and give me some feedback. -- David Griffith dave at 661.org A: Because it

OGG loads as a naked file, but not if embedded in an IFF.
I can now load and play AIFF, WAV, and OGG files using libsndfile and libao. Now I'm moving on to loading and playing files embedded in an IFF file. This is presenting a problem. Playing an AIFF embedded in an IFF works fine. Playing an OGG embedded in the same IFF fails. Specifically, it appears that sf_open_fd() can't figure out what it's being told to load. Except for

Dovecot and Postfix
Does this configuration look sane? I seem to have a few duplicates and I am not sure if that is a problem or not. It seems I have multiple "userdb" sections and I am not sure where they are all originating from. # 2.2.13: /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE-p3 amd64 ufs auth_debug_passwords = yes auth_mechanisms = plain login auth_verbose = yes

Combining userdbs
Hi, I think that using more than one userdb with setting the result actions doesn't work as expected from the documentation. The goal would be to set user-specific quotas for a few users with a specific passwd-file like this : cat /etc/dovecot/quotas foo:x::::::userdb_quota_rule=*:storage=2G The first userdb is passwd (with pam passwd): userdb { driver = passwd result_failure =

No ports listening
Please forgive my newbie post but this has me stumped. I've been a happy Dovecot 0.X and 1.X admin for years but something in my first 2.X configuration is oddly broken. It loads fine, logs no errors, but doesn't listen to any network ports! Thanks in advance for any help. Looking for NTLM config example
Also it seems we lack support for NTLMv2. If you want to use NTLM you need to permit use of NTLM(v1), which is usually not enabled by default.
