SEEK_DATA/HOLE on ocfs2 - v2
Two patches follow this message. One fixes the default implementation of SEEK_HOLE/DATA. This patch applies atop Josef's last posted patch. The second patch implements the same on ocfs2. The test tool for the same is available here. http://oss.oracle.com/~smushran/seek_data/seek_test.c It is improved since the last post. It runs cleanly on zfs, ocfs2 and ext3 (default behavior). [PATCH 00/42] ocfs2: Add reflink file support. V1
Hi all, So I have finally finished the v1 of reflink for ocfs2. It has some bugs that I am still investigating, but the schema is almost there. So I'd like to send it out first for review. And Tristan and I will continue to work on the stability of the code. The general information for reflink, please see http://oss.oracle.com/osswiki/OCFS2/DesignDocs/Reflink. For the design doc, please

[PATCH 0/40] ocfs2: Detach ocfs2 metadata I/O from struct inode
The following series of patches attempts to detach metadata I/O from struct inode. They are currently tied together pretty tightly. Metadata reads happen via the ocfs2_read_blocks() functions, writes via both jbd2 and ocfs2_write_blocks(). - Each inode has a cache of associated metadata blocks stored on its ip_metadata_cache member. The ocfs2_read/write_blocks() functions take a struct

[PATCH] Btrfs: optimize key searches in btrfs_search_slot
When the binary search returns 0 (exact match), the target key will necessarily be at slot 0 of all nodes below the current one, so in this case the binary search is not needed because it will always return 0, and we waste time doing it, holding node locks for longer than necessary, etc. Below follow histograms with the times spent on the current approach of doing a binary search when the

Cannot delete files from samba share
Hi all, Following an upgrade from samba 2.2.8a to 3.0.22 we have been unable to delete files on a samba share using an XP client. We were previously able to delete these files when using 2.2.8a. The problem occurs when we have a particular sub-set of permissions. Directory permissions on UNIX are set to 775 and ownerhips to usera : group1. This should mean that either usera or anyone who

[PATCH 0/2] ocfs2: Adjust rightmost path in ocfs2_add_branch.v2
Hi Mark/Joel, This is the v2 of bug fix for ocfs2_add_branch. Modification from V1 to V2: 1. Create a patch which return EROFS instead of BUG in ocfs2_insert_at_leaf. 2. Use ocfs2_adjust_rightmost_records to change the root and extent blocks in the rightmost path. Regards, Tao

[PATCH V2] mm/slab: add a leak decoder callback
This adds a leak decoder callback so that slab destruction can use to generate debugging output for the allocated objects. Callers like btrfs are using their own leak tracking which will manage allocated objects in a list(or something else), this does indeed the same thing as what slab does. So adding a callback for leak tracking can avoid this as well as runtime overhead. (The idea is from

Annotate forest plot 'forest.rma()' for meta-analysis with metafor package
Dear R-experts, The forest.rma() function from the metafor package creates nice forest plots for presenting the results of a meta-analysis. These plots can be annotated for e.g. giving names to the columns. E.g. as in the documentation of the package: data(dat.bcg) ### meta-analysis of the log relative risks using a random-effects model res <- rma(ai=tpos, bi=tneg, ci=cpos, di=cneg,

Non sparse extend init issue
The patch was created against a 1.4 tree. However, it applies cleanly to mainline too. The patch has been lightly tested. I am running fill_verify_holes on a non sparse volume currently. Please review. Sunil

[PATCH] ocfs2: Adjust rightmost path in ocfs2_add_branch.
In ocfs2_add_branch, we use the rightmost rec of the leaf extent block to generate the e_cpos for the new added branch. In the most case, it is OK but if there is a gap between the the root(or branch) 's rightmost rec and the leaf, it will cause kernel panic if we insert some clusters in it. The message is something like: (7445,1):ocfs2_insert_at_leaf:3775 ERROR: bug expression:
