Btrfs resize problem after device add/delete
I create a new btrfs filesystem and then add a new device and delete the original device. When I run ''btrfs filesystem show'', the total device is two and there is an error that some devices are missing. I also tried to resize the filesystem but didn''t work. Resizing without device id have an error that there is no such device. When the device id is explicitly pass, an

[PATCH] Btrfs: fix false positive in check-integrity on unmount

[PATCH] Btrfs: cleanup reserved space when freeing tree log on error
On error we will wait and free the tree log at unmount without a transaction. This means that the actual freeing of the blocks doesn''t happen which means we complain about space leaks on unmount. So to fix this just skip the transaction specific cleanup part of the tree log free''ing if we don''t have a transaction and that way we can free up our reserved space and our

BTRFS corruptions counter
Hi, We decided to give BTRFS a try. We find it very flexible and generally fast. However last week we had a problem with a Marvell controller in AHCI and one BTRFS formatted hard drive. We isolated the problem by relocating the disk to an Intel contoller (SATA controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9172 SATA 6Gb/s Controller (rev 11) had a lot of problems and I managed to overcome them by

3.5.0-rc6: btrfs and LVM snapshots -> wrong devicename in /proc/mounts
Hi, using btrfs with LVM snapshots seems to be confusing /proc/mounts After mounting a snapshot of an original filesystem, the devicename of the original filesystem is overwritten with that of the snapshot in /proc/mounts. Steps to reproduce: arnd@kallisto:/mnt$ sudo mount /dev/vg0/original /mnt/original [ 107.041432] device fsid 5c3e8ca2-da56-4ade-9fef-103a6a8a70c2 devid 1 transid 4

Btrfs: blocked for more than 120 seconds, made worse by 3.2 rc7
Hello all: I have two machines with btrfs, that give me the "blocked for more than 120 seconds" message. After that I cannot write anything to disk, i am unable to unmount the btrfs filesystem and i can only reboot with sysrq-trigger. It always happens when i write many files with rsync over network. When i used 3.2rc6 it happened randomly on both machines after 50-500gb of writes.

Error on creating snapshots (btrfs: could not do orphan cleanup -116)
This happens on a freshly created btrfs filesystem in a raid10 (4x1TB) configuration with three subvolumes and 1.5 TB data. When I try to snapshot one of the subvolumes (with 100 GB of data), it says that the snapshot creation failed and I get the following error message: btrfs: could not do orphan cleanup -116 After the failure: - The snapshot exists in `btrfs subvolume list'' - The

[BUG] Cannot Mount Btrfs Volume Created By mkfs.btrfs v0.18-26-g0030f1d
Hi, I try to format a USB memory with a Btrfs. I can format it with mkfs.btrfs without problems. But; when I try to mount it, it fails to mount with the below error messages. But the USB memory works fine with other filesystems (ext4, XFS etc.). So, the hardware is not faulty. tarkane@tarkane:~$ sudo mkfs.btrfs -d single -n 4096 /dev/sdb1 WARNING! - Btrfs v0.18-26-g0030f1d IS EXPERIMENTAL

btrfs-convert complains that fs is mounted even if it isn't
Hi, I''m trying to run btrfs-convert on a system that has three raid partitions (boot/md1, swap/md2 and root/md3). When I boot a rescue system from md1, and try to run "btrfs-convert /dev/md3", it complains that /dev/md3 is already mounted, although it definitely is not. The only partition mounted is /dev/md1 because of the rescue system. When I replicate the setup in a

[PATCH] Btrfs: make subvol=0 mount the original default root
Since theres not a good way to make sure the user sees the original default root tree id, and not to mention it''s 5 so is way different than any other volume, just make subvol=0 mount the original default root. This makes it a bit easier for users to handle in the long run. Thanks, Signed-off-by: Josef Bacik <josef@redhat.com> --- fs/btrfs/super.c | 12 +++++++++--- 1 files

[RFC PATCH v7 0/2] Btrfs: get/set label of a mounted file system
Hello, Per David''s comments upon v6, I missed a check up against the return value of btrfs_end_transaction for btrfs_ioctl_fs_setlabel(), it was fixed in this version. v7->v6: - take care of btrfs_end_transaction() in btrfs_ioctl_fs_setlabel() rather than keeping silence. R: [PATCH 2/2] Btrfs-progs: add mount-option command
Hi Seto, please could you update also the man page too ? Why it was not provided a way to clear a *single* flag ? To me it seems a bit too long to clear all the flag (btrfs mount-option clear) and then set the right one. As user interface I suggest something like chmod: btrfs mount-option set +ssd,skip_balance -nodatacow /dev/sdX or btrfs mount-option set =ssd,skip_balance,nodatacow

[PATCH] btrfs: flushoncommit mount option
Hi Chris- Here''s a simpler version of the patch that drops the unrelated sync_fs stuff. thanks- sage The ''flushoncommit'' mount option forces any data dirtied by a write in a prior transaction to commit as part of the current commit. This makes the committed state a fully consistent view of the file system from the application''s perspective (i.e., it
