fdisk hard drive image
Hello list, Currently, i use a partition image to run my XenU (/dev/hda2) and "fdisk -l" return nothing and can''t open /dev/hda . Virt-Lightning: a cloud-like CLI for libvirt
Hi all, Tl;dr: Virt-Lightning uses libvirt, cloud-init and libguestfs to allow anyone to quickly start new VM. Very much like a container CLI interface, but locally. -> https://github.com/virt-lightning/virt-lightning To validate my Ansible roles, I was looking for a way to quickly start and stop my test environments. I was looking for an experience similar to what we have with the

libreoffice 5 slow after 7.3 update
Hello all, After the update to 7.3 libreoffice (5.0.6.2-3.el7.x86_64) became unusable slow. For an excel file with 250 rows even a simple scroll takes a few seconds, during that time the Xorg server is 100% working and the GPU utilization is at about 77% (from NVIDIA server settings). I have tried disabling the hardware acceleration (options->view) and OpenCL (options) but the problem and

LibreOffice locking up
I am running LibreOffice 5.3.6.1 under the latest update of CentOS 7 and the Mate desktop. Not infrequently LibreOffice Calc locks up and I have to force close the application. Altough the spreadsheet is rather large I would not consider it complex. This has been going on for some time and I am curious if the bug might be in LibreOffice or if there is some interaction with the Mate desktop that

libreoffice 4.4 or 5 in CentOS 6
I need the ability to make signed PDFs in LibreOffice, so I tried LO 5 and LO 4.4 rpms from LO.org but they are useless (menu and toolbar are black). Anyone been able to use a higher version of LO? Thanks

failing to install LibreOffice 6.3.0.4
As in subject, am attempting to install latest LibreOffice on C7. unpack all the rpm files, type "yum install *.rpm", or "yum localinstall *.rpm" and yum spews the list of filenames (with the word "examining" in front of each file) then says "nothing to do". what the hey? I tried "yum clean all" but it didn't help. I also verified the

OpenOffice or LibreOffice?
Given that the Document Foundation has now split away from Oracle to continue the development of an independent office suite, do we have any idea which was CentOS and Red Hat are planning to go in this area - OpenOffice or LibreOffice? I know that LibreOffice is not production ready yet - they only have their first beta available, but it's just a matter of (likely a short) time before the

Yum dependency failure installing latest LibreOffice
I've been bashing my head on the wall for 2 or 3 hours for something that should be (and has been, in the past) simple. Trying to install the latest LibreOffice downloaded from Libreoffice.org. I had 6.0.1.1 and downloaded 6.4.0.2, and kept getting dependency errors: --> Running transaction check ---> Package libobasis6.0-base.x86_64 0:6.0.4.2-2 will be installed ---> Package

RExcel, ROOo and LibreOffice inquiry
Dear all I'd like to give RExcel a decent spin, mainly to take advantage of Excel's data management facilities and automatic recalculations. However I cannot use this Windows-only solution on the platform of my choice, Linux. Alternatively I've been considering the cross-platform ROOo, the OpenOffice equivalent of RExcel, but in this case the problem is that the only release available

Does LibreOffice need to be patched to remove upstream "supplied by" text?
I just noticed that if I click "Help / About" in LibreOffice Writer (and likely other LibreOffice apps), I see: This release was supplied by Red Hat, Inc. Copyright (C) 2000 - 2013 LibreOffice contributors and/or their affiliates LibreOffice was based on OpenOffice.org I know several packages are patched to remove ambiguity as to who supplied the package; should this be one of them?

slow libreoffice
Hi, so what do I need to install to prevent libreoffice from being so slow that it becomes unusable? This issue has been there with Fedora years ago, and now there?s same issue with Centos. Back then, there was a package you could install to make it work at normal speeds, but last time I checked, this package doesn?t exist anymore. This issue is particular to the Fedora/Centos versions of

Libreoffice.org "official" RPMs in yum friendly format
I thought I "spammed" here as well last night when I sent to the SL list, but appears not. Sorry for the noise. Anyway, for those of you interested to run the RPMs from the libreoffice.org tarball instead of the stock packages, I put them all in a repo. More on this here http://www.nux.ro/archive/2012/04/LibreOffice_org_RPMs_in_a_yum_friendly_format.html Thanks to Ljubomir,
