Andrew Bartlett, samba Think you for your reply. I know the process to resovle the problem now. first ,I need transferring and Seizing FSMO Roles to DC2 and then demoting DC1. After that ,I join the DC1 from DC2 with the fsmo role to the domain again. Right? Is there any other method that I can edit the sam.ldb file directly and add the dsServiceName entry of the DC1?

PDC: realm changed: authentication aborted
Hi list, We have a network with some XP and some Windows 7 computer, we use samba 3.6.6 on debian 6.0.6 from debian-backports. It's a pdc with passdb backend = ldapsam. In our logs there are lots of: ARCServer slapd[1263]: SASL [conn=46778] Failure: realm changed: authentication aborted I found out that at that time this emerges the tcpdump says: 12:59:54.656399 IP client.49551 >

samba4/Win2008: error -> directory property cannot be found in the cache
I setup a samba4 pdc and successfully added a Windows 2008 machine to the domain. When I start up the "Active Directory Users and Computers" tool, I get a "Naming information cannot be located because: directory property cannot be found in the cache" error. I'm running a pretty up to date version of samba4. The head commit is: commit

Never mind. However, with your update I get the following error right on the first found "user": ./mailtest_rowland.sh: line 27: (""/10000000)-11644473600: syntax error: operand expected (error token is """/10000000)-11644473600") Ole On 09.02.2017 12:21, Ole Traupe via samba wrote: > NOBODY updates my scripts! In one word: DONT! Tried it once and realmd moved the DC to the Computer OU in AD. There it no longer is a DC and nothing worked for us... As it is already joind you don't need realmd at all. Just configure sssd.conf and start sssd. However, I would not recommend that. We have since switched to winbind as this is already running and with the sernet packages can not be installed alongside

Hello,I'm using samba ad dc about a year. I have 2 DCs, One is DC1 with FSMO role. And another is DC2. there's a error in DC1 when i use dbcheck tool. And samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs--fix can't fix that. And I made a big mistake ! In DC2 I use "tdbbackup -s .bak /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb" create a bak file. and using that bak file replace the sam.ldb

regpatch writing to local registry hive with -F not working (registery-utils 4.0.0~alpha15~git20110124.dfsg1-2ubuntu1)
Hi, I was hoping I could modify a locally mounted registry hive using regpatch and a .reg file but the -F argument seems to have no function. (Strace shows it ignores it and just operates on /var/lib/samba/private/hklm.ldb) Below is output with debug on. rfm6 at ubuntuSSDx64:cp /mnt/xp/WINDOWS/system32/config/software /tmp/software rfm6 at ubuntuSSDx64:/tmp/config$ sudo regpatch -d=10 -F
