Compiling Xen-tools
Hi All, I am adding the patch mentioned here http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-changelog/2013-02/msg00235.html I am getting errors on compiling Xen tools. My /tools/include/xen-foreign/mkheader.py looks different from the one that is mentioned in the above link, which I feel is due to version difference. I am using Xen 4.3.3 version. My understanding is that due to this version difference I

[PATCH 00/45] initial arm v8 (64-bit) support
First off, Apologies for the massive patch series... This series boots a 32-bit dom0 kernel to a command prompt on an ARMv8 (AArch64) model. The kernel is the same one as I am currently using with the 32 bit hypervisor I haven''t yet tried starting a guest or anything super advanced like that ;-). Also there is not real support for 64-bit domains at all, although in one or two places I

[PATCH 0/5] ia64/pv_ops, xen: binary patch optimization TAKE 2
This patch set is intended for the next merge window. They are just enhancements of the already merged patches or ia64 porting from x86 paravirt techniques and that their quality is enough for merge. This patch set is for binary patch optimization for paravirt_ops. The binary patch optimization is important on native case because the paravirt_ops overhead can be reduced by converting indirect

[PATCH 0/5] ia64/pv_ops, xen: binary patch optimization
This patch set is for binary patch optimization for paravirt_ops. The binary patch optimization is important on native case because the paravirt_ops overhead can be reduced by converting indirect call into in-place execution or direct call. The first patch imports helper functions which themselves doesn't interesting things. The second patch replaces the indirect function calls with a

[PATCH][LINUX] use machine_emergency_restart() from the generic header.
This patch uses the standard generic header for the definition of machine_emergency_restart() and reverses the call path for XenoLinux. [PATCH] xen: initialize platform_pci even if xen_emul_unplug=never
When xen_emul_unplug=never is specified on kernel command line reading files from /sys/hypervisor is broken (returns -EBUSY). It is caused by xen_bus dependency on platform_pci and platform_pci isn''t initialized when xen_emul_unplug=never is specified. Fix it by allowing platform_pcii to ignore xen_emul_unplug=never, and do not intialize xen_[blk|net]front instead. Signed-off-by: Igor

[PATCH 0/5] RFC: ia64/pv_ops: ia64 intrinsics paravirtualization
Hi. Thank you for comments on asm code paravirtualization. Its direction is getting clear. Although it hasn't been finished yet, I'd like to start discussion on ia64 intrinsics paravirtualization. This patch set is just for discussion so that it is a subset of xen Linux/ia64 domU paravirtualization, not self complete. You can get the full patched tree by typing git clone

Xen or XCP
I was wondering if someone could direct me to a resource or provide their own insights to differences between Xen and XCP. I have used Xen to go virtual on a majority of my infrastructure (Except for one NT 4 box) and was wondering if going with XCP would bring about any major benefits? For instance, from what I understand from what I have read, XCP allows you to create resource pools. The

[patch] Initialize xen_vcpu0 before initialize irq_ops
Hello, I find a strange behavior. When a machine is slow (or with many debug traces or a qemu vm), a interrupt can occur between the pv_irq_ops initialization and the xen_vcpu[0] initialization. This lead to a problem because some operations in xen_irq_ops use xen_vcpu. I send you a patch to fix that but I''m not quite sure that is the right solution. Regards, Anthoine From
