Hi,
i''m not sure if i understood the new acpi xen cpufreq driver - here''s the

[RFC/PATCH 14/15] guest: detect when running on kvm
From: Christian Borntraeger <borntraeger at de.ibm.com>
From: Carsten Otte <cotte at de.ibm.com>
This patch adds functionality to detect if the kernel runs under the KVM
hypervisor. A macro MACHINE_IS_KVM is exported for device drivers. This
allows drivers to skip device detection if the systems runs non-virtualized.
We also define a preferred console to avoid having the ttyS0, which

[RFC/PATCH 08/15] kvm-s390: intercepts for privileged instructions
From: Carsten Otte <cotte at de.ibm.com>
From: Christian Borntraeger <borntraeger at de.ibm.com>
This patch introduces in-kernel handling of some intercepts for privileged
instructions:
handle_set_prefix() sets the prefix register of the local cpu
handle_store_prefix() stores the content of the prefix register to memory
handle_store_cpu_address() stores the cpu number of

Re: DomU: piix:not 100% native mode: will probe irq later
Hey guys,
I am posting this again....because i didnt get any replay. Please I am
doing my thesis and I am stack installing a guest machine from Yocto, a
unix like machine. It boots successfully on the same host without xen.
thank you again,
Nas

VT-d not working
Hello there,
I am using a Gigabyte H55M-UD2H (Intel H55-Chipset) together with a
Core-i5-650.
According to Gigabyte Support the Mainboard does support VT-d. Well,
actually support says, that VT-d does work on Windows-7 in XP-Mode.
They do not test and support Linux though.
Did anybody here have success using VT-d on any H55-Board?
Perhaps it is some misconfiguration on my side. I tried a

[PATCH] [IA64] Compilation fix to cpufreq stuff.
Currently xen-unstable.hg is broken on ia64 and it should be fixed
by Yu''s patch. However he is off this week, so I''m sending
the workaround patch.
[IA64] Compilation fix to cpufreq stuff.
This patch fixes the following compilation error by
defining stubs.
This patch is just band aid patch until those functions are implemented
later.

[RFC/PATCH 04/15] preparation: split sysinfo defintions for kvm use
From: Christian Borntraeger <borntraeger at de.ibm.com>
drivers/s390/sysinfo.c uses the store system information intruction to query
the system about information of the machine, the LPAR and additional
hypervisors. KVM has to implement the host part for this instruction.
To avoid code duplication, this patch splits the common definitions from
sysinfo.c into a separate header file

Vt-d not working with 3.4.1
Hi folks,
currently I try to setup a new xen host v3.4.1 on top of a Asus P5E-VM
DO (latest BIOS, Vt-d capable and enabled in BIOS) to migrate my
extisting HVMs (Win2k3 server) running on Xen v3.3.0 to a new home. I
want to switch over to 3.4.1 to (hopefully!) passthrough my ISDN board
to a HVM domU.
Unfortunate there seem some issue with the VT-d DMAR tables which is
beyond my knowledge and

Request for code review: the brendan() action
This came up as an RFE during the conference (I believe it''s been logged
as "4012008: brendan() action needed for DTrace Toolkit".)
As everyone here is aware, DTrace is not quite as user friendly as it
could be. For the uninitiated, it can be confusing to run a DTrace
script and not see the expected output. Brendan Gregg has addressed
this in the DTrace Toolkit[1] by

Freeze with 2.6.32.19 and xen-4.0.1rc5
Hi,
i have big trouble with a Debian Lenny dom0 and latest kernel 2.6.32.19
with xen-4.0.1rc5. Due some reason the system freezes from time to time.
I used kernel 2.6.31.9 with xen-3.4.2 before. The machine doesn''t write
anything to serial console so there are no errors or something like that.
Perhaps there is something to see from the logs ...

[PATCH 0/3] CPUIDLE: enable C1 FFH
This patchset enable support for C1 mwait entry.
[PATCH 1/3] dom0-C1-FFH.patch. It gets C1 information from ACPI table and pass it to Xen.
[PATCH 2/3] add-idx-field.patch. This patch adds an idx field in the ''struct acpi_processor_cx''. It can simplify some coding lines.
[PATCH 3/3] xen-C1-FFH.patch. It adds support for C1 FFH (mwait) entry. Meanwhile add timing for C1. The

[PATCH 0/2] CPUIDLE: fixings for multiple C3 & C2 LAPIC stop
[PATCH 1/2] Support multiple C3 states. There may be multiple ACPI C3 states mapped into different CPU C-states.So made some modification to support this case.
[PATCH 2/2] Handle C2 LAPIC timer & TSC stop. ACPI C2 is quite possible mapped to CPU C3 or deeper state, so thinking from worst cases, enable C3 like entry/exit handling for C2 by default. Option ''lapic_timer_c2_ok''

[PATCH]CPUIDLE: Initialize timer broadcast mechanism for C2
Without this patch, while running on platforms on which the deepest C-state is C2, acpi_processor_idle fns will call into NULL function.
BTW, made a little enhancement for keyhandler print-out to make it more readable.
