Can anyone compile mtr source RPM on CentOS 6.7?
I'm not surprised, given that it is in the repo. That's why I was asking if anyone tried building it themselves and, if so, did they have the same issue as I describe below? Alternatively, any tips/advice on solving my build issue would be helpful. digimer On 07/03/16 07:29 PM, Nux! wrote: > It built just fine in mock, results here > http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/tmp/mtr6/ >

virt-manager like tool for Android
Hi all, I use virt-manager as a way to give customers direct access to their (virtual) servers. This is important for things like OS installs or when do admin work where the network is down. This means I have to install a little linux machine though as none of my clients are linux shops. So I got to wondering; If I understand, virt-manager is more or less a hypervisor-aware VNC client,

How to boot CentOS 7 in Text mode in default?
I have done what you said and I restarted centos7. It still goes into graph mode automatically. So what is the step I can do to go into text mode automatically? 2015-03-19 12:03 GMT-07:00 Digimer <lists at alteeve.ca>: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Try: > > plymouth-set-default-theme --list > > You should see 'text' and

Announcing a new HA KVM tutorial!
Almost exactly two years ago, I released the first tutorial for building an HA platform for KVM VMs. In that time, I have learned a lot, created some tools to simplify management and refined the design to handle corner-cases seen in the field. Today, the culmination of that learning is summed up in the "2nd Edition" of that tutorial, now called "AN!Cluster Tutorial 2".

How serious are we about not wanting to see...
Personally, I am agnostic. I've just read thru Centos documentation that there is a big effort to remove all upstream personalities from Centos. Personally, I don't see why RH is doing this. I would think that it undermines RH. But I'm still new/old to all of this. It used to be the big argument was between Unix from Berkeley(4.? I think) and SysIII/V. Always always battles for turf.

Looking for a CentOS-friendly online backup company
Hi all. We've got a lot of customers running CentOS 5 and 6 servers. We've been asked by many to provide backup, which is something we don't want to do in house. So we started looking for backup companies to partner with. The problem is that the ones we've found who support RHEL won't support CentOS. So does anyone know of an online backup company that _will_

Changing isolinux/splash.jpg on custom ISO
Hi all, I know I've done this in the past, but I can't seem to get it working today... I want to roll my own ISO and use custom splash.jpg. If I roll the ISO with the stock splash.jpg, it works. When I save my own 800x600 .jpg as splash.jpg though, I get a black screen. I made sure the permissions and ownership was the same. Is there a special way that the JPG has to be

[OT] How to recover data from an IDE drive
While IDE-to-USB is probably the easier option to use, I got an IDE-to-Sata adapter on eBay for almost nothing (of course, you have to wait for it to arrive directly from China). If you go this route, the thing I learned from the experience was to set the IDE drive to master (there won't be a slave unless you get a one-to-two converter - I didn't see one of the latter). Also, unless the
