Moving a computer from a down domain to a new domain

Windows 7 client trying to authenticate with windows machine name
Hello there. I'm having an issue authenticating a Windows 7 (not in a domain) against a Samba 4.1.17 (debian Jessie). It appears that the client is trying to authenticate using with it's machine name and not the user filled in the auth form. WinXP not print - Samba3.6.6

Local account login failed when samba join to LDAP
Dears, My samba version is 3.6.4 I have a problem to co-work with open LDAP server. When samba join to open LDAP server, my local account can NOT login samba anymore, only LDAP account can login. user authentication issue
Hey Jeremy, Thanks for the advice. I followed your suggestion collected the logged information for a single connection attempt (i.e. smbclient //servername/sharename -U username); I've included the log data below (in the postscript). It looks like Samba is still looking for a Unix user account and not finding one. I should mention that it seems that I am able to authenticate as the user; the
