Dynamic DNS updates not working
Hi guys,
I'm having a struggle with Dynamic DNS updates. When i join a Windows
machine to the domain the host name get registered. When I change the IP
the A-record gets deleted and nothing more happens. I'm using the internal
dns with Samba 4.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Samba4 migration
I have a question ...
How can I migrate existing LDAP users ( or schemas) on Ubuntu 10.04.2 to the
new Samba4 (Ubuntu 12.04.2) server?
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks for support

kcc_deleted
During my actions to transfer a domain controller role from a Windows 2003 server to Samba
(now version 4.0.12) and generally cleaning up the domain I made the mistake to manually delete a
record from a "deleted objects" zone. I now understand that I should have waited until it would
have gone away by itself.
Ever since, the following message is regularly logged:

Are secure DNS updates truly working?
Hi team,
I recently upgrade some servers from v4.3.5 (affected by
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11520 ) to v4.5.8 (default in
Debian Stretch) and was expecting secure DNS updates to be working again,
but they are not.
My logs show the same issues reported on bug 11520:

Not sure about the high CPU load, but you have the [netlogon] share
twice in your smb.conf. Your first matches mine, have you added the
second yourself?
The second one looks weird with 2 path definitions.

DNS: Update not allowed for unsigned packet
DNS is suddenly not working properly for some machines.
We had a bunch of machines that were joined to the domain, but the computer
name was wrong.
To fix this, we unjoined the machines and deleted the computer accounts out
of Samba (because renames while joined will leave LDAP attributes with the
previous machine name and there will be connectivity problems for some
reason), and we deleted them

Samba errors everyday at 00:00:00
Hello Rawland,
Thank you for your reply.
We manage other zones other than the ad zone. These zones are stored in our AD (ldap). To do this, we have set up the named-sdb service which listens on 127.0.0.2. Samba AD forwards all DNS requests that do not match the AD domain zone to named-sdb.
The problem is that these log errors only occur at 00:00:00 every day.
Best Regards,

Fwd: Unable to change passwords from Win XP Pro clients
Hello everyone,
First time with Samba 4.
I've got it running mostly (with Windows 7 clients, everything works like a
charm.), but I-m struggling with an issue that is driving me nuts (spent
countless hours trying out stuff and googleing without luck):
When users log in from Win XP Pro terminals, and are forced to change
initially assigned passwords, they get an error (1728: error in RCP
