Samba4 binding LDAP Server
Hi all, I have several servers in a facility running Samba3 authenticating users from a LDAP server with no issues. But now, I'm testing a new file server with Samba4 and I'm running in a problem which seems to be really easy to solve but I couldn't. I'm using the smb.conf file from the other samba3 servers, so while I don't set the owner of the folder (with chown) with the

problem installing packages
Hello, I was using version 2.13.2 and I have just downloaded the latest version 2.14.1. However, I''m trying to install the packages I was using and when I look for them in the packages list, I canĀ“t find many in the CRAN binaries (e.g. "vegan"). I do find them in the CRAN sources but the installation fails. I tried downloading the version 2.14.0 and I had the same problem. I

partial SS for anova
Hello, I use lme4 package. library(lme4) fit=lmer(y ~ time+dye+trt+trt:time + (1|rep), data=dataset, na.action='na.omit') anova(fit) The anova gives sequential F-tests and sequential SS. My question is: how I can get partial F-tests and partial SS? For lm (not lmer) anova(lm(y~x+z)) we can use anova(fit, ssType=3) but it is not work for lmer. Natalia.

Model (Y) from left-censored independant variable (s)
Hi all; I'm trying to model a response variable (Y) from one (and eventually more...) independant left-censored variable (X*) In other words, X* is a random variable with values 0 -> inf. Thus, let c=0 X*= x if x>= c X*= c if x< c Does anyone knows a function or package in [R] enabling to model Y from a censored predictor X*? Thanks for your help! ?tienne ?tienne Boucher

share permissions
I have a share setup on a Samba 4.0.8 / CentOS 6.4 box that is successfully replicating with a W2K3 server. I'm following the HOWTO here: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_and_configure_file_shares [mytest] path = /home/me/mytestshare <-- with or without trailing slash read only = No On the W2K3 box, I can browse to \\newdc and I see my test share listed there. Date problem
Hello, I have some "stupid" problems managing "date" data. I have a colomn "date", which I converted from a character representation: for example: a="26/02/06" date=strptime(a,format="%d/%m/%y") For one part of the analysis, I'm interested only in the month and the year, so I did: m.y=strftime(date,format="%m/%y") This returns me

File share permissions act different on member server than on DC
Hello, a while ago I wrote the http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_and_configure_file_shares HowTo. When I wrote the HowTo, I setup and configured the share on a DC - what still works like described. Today I tried the first time to do exactly the same on a 4.0.10 and 4.1.0 _member server_, and it doesn't work there. The share in smb.conf: [demo] path = /srv/samba/Demo read only

OpenSSH programming
Hello all, is there any recent information on programming on how to add a new authentication method into OpenSSH / OpenSSL ?! Is there any other way, to add a new authentication method into openssh (one-time passwords), apart from adding the functions into sshconnect.c and sshconnect2.c Particularly I'm interested in information on "struct Authctxt" in sshconnect2 and sshuserauth2.

Samba 4 Domain Member fileserver permission denied error
Hi there, I have a working Samba 4 domain (4.1.5) with several DC's spread over a global network. They are all based on Ubuntu 12.04. At present the domain member fileservers for this network are all running Samba 3.4.7 and using NSLCD and *nix permissions to allow access. This is working nicely. I am now trying to create a new Samba 4 (4.1.7 Ubuntu 12.04) domain member fileserver and have

mixed model
Hello all, I have problem with setting up random effects. I have a model: y=x1+x2+x1*x2+z1+z1*x2 where x1, x2, x1*x2 are fixed effects and z1, z1*x2 are random effects (crossed effects) I use library(nlme) 'lme' function. My question is: how I should set up random effects? I did lme(y~x1+x2+x1:x2, data=DATA, random=~z1+z1:x2, na.action='na.omit') but it did not work.

Restrict access to users home drives
Hi, is it possible to hide/restrict access to the home drives of our samba users when accessing them directly via netbios address? I have set up the home folders in ADUC. They are all mapped to drive H: and users have full access to their drive. The problem is, that others users also have access (accept write) to other users folders when opening the domain shares via \\<netbios

R arithmetic probability plot
I am hoping to create a graph that will look like it is plotted on arithmetic probability plot. Something similar to how this is done in Excel: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ProbabilityChart.html. I can't quite find a code that will transform the linear axis into a cumulative percent axis with an arithmetic probability. And I am not good enough at R to do that myself. Any help will be
