Rev Your (RDMA) Engines for the RDMA GlusterFest
It's that time again ? we want to test the GlusterFS 3.4 beta before we unleash it on the world. Like our last test fest, we want you to put the latest GlusterFS beta through real-world usage scenarios that will show you how it compares to previous releases. Unlike the last time, we want to focus this round of testing on Infiniband and RDMA hardware. For a description of how to do this, see

kernel-2.6.18-8.1.14 + lustre 1.6.4.2 + OFED 1.2
We seemed to have it a stumbling block when building with the above (supported) versions. Our process... 1. Start with stock rhel5 2.6.18-8.1.14 source tree 2. Configure InfiniBand support out of the the kernel (we will build OFED separately). 3. Apply the 1.6.4.2 kernel patches to the kernel source. 4. Build the kernel. 5. Build OFED 1.2 against the patched kernel 6. Build Lustre using

XCP & InfiniBand
I am running XCP 0.5. I have an InfiniBand network in place that I would like to use to connect to my NFS server for VM image storage. Has anybody tried getting IB to work with XCP? Is there a document that outlines the steps for getting IB to work with XCP? Also, I don''t need to expose the IB network to any of the domU. I only want to use the IB network to connecting to NFS based

Infiniband performance issues answered?
In IRC today, someone who was hitting that same IB performance ceiling that occasionally gets reported had this to say [11:50] <nissim> first, I ran fedora which is not supported by Mellanox OFED distro [11:50] <nissim> so I moved to CentOS 6.3 [11:51] <nissim> next I removed all distibution related infiniband rpms and build the latest OFED package [11:52] <nissim>

problems running a vol over IPoIB, and qemu off it?
hi people I wonder if anybody experience any problems with vols in replica mode that run across IPoIB links and libvirt stores qcow image on such a volume? I wonder if maybe devel could confirm it should just work, and then hardware/Infiniband I should blame. I have a direct IPoIB link between two hosts, gluster replica volume, libvirt store disk images there. I start a guest on hostA and

Recommendations for Infiniband with CentOS 6.7
We have a new install of CentOS 6.7 with infiniband support installed. We can see the card in hardware and we can see the mlx4 drivers loaded in the kernel but cannot see the card as an ethernet interface, using ifconfig -a. Can you recommend an install procedure to see this as an ethernet interface? Thanks On 05/25/2016 07:32 AM, Fabian Arrotin wrote: > On 25/05/16 03:08, Pat Haley

lnet infiniband config
Hi all, I''m getting my feet wet in the infiniband lake and of course I run into some problems. It would seem I got the compilation part of sles11 kernel 2.6.27 + Lustre 1.8.3 + ofed 1.4.2 right, because it allows me to see and use the infiniband fabric, and because ko2iblnd loads without any complaints. In /etc/modprobe.d/lustre (this is a Debian system, hence this subdir of

Are there source codes for Xen-IB?
Hi, I found a link: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-smartio.hg for Xen-IB source codes, but it did''t exist anymore. Are there other ways to get the Xen-IB source codes? Thanks. Xen and the InfiniBand
Hi, all, Is the Xen currently compatible with the InfiniBand? I found some information about the Smart I/O module, but it was posted in 2006. Is the module still maintained? Or, are there any up-to-date alternatives for that? Many thanks, Chiu _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

kernel parameters for improving gluster writes on millions of small writes (long)
This is a continuation of my previous posts about improving write perf when trapping millions of small writes to a gluster filesystem. I was able to improve write perf by ~30x by running STDOUT thru gzip to consolidate and reduce the output stream. Today, another similar problem, having to do with yet another bioinformatics program (which these days typically handle the 'short reads' that

CTDB + InfiniBand Public IP Addresses
Hi, I'm trying to set up a small CTDB cluster running in an IPoIB InfiniBand network. When I try to start up a cluster with a set of public IP addresses, the public addresses do not come online. So, I removed the public address configuration and started a single node up by hand, then tried to add a public address as follows: [root at gp-1-0 ctdb]# ctdb ip Public IPs on node 0 [root at

lfs_migrate question
Hi, I suffered an oss crash where my oss server had a cpu fault. I have it running again, but I am trying to decommission it. I am migrating the data off of it onto other ost''s using the lfs find command with lfs_migrate. It''s been nearly 36 hours and about 2 terabytes have been moved. This means I am about halfway. Is this a decent rate? Here are the particulars, which

using ipoib with xcp
Hello, I have been playing with the XCP for a while now, and must say I''m very exited about the technology. I had no prior experience with Xen so it has taken me a while to understand the concepts, but now I feel most important issues are solved and I''ve purchased some hardware to build my (tiny) cloud on. The box is a Supermicro 1026TT-IBXF, so I have 2 x Ethernet and 1 x
