2.2.4 - Some questions about and needing help with quota-status
Help! I'm stuck. :-(
The config of my experimental setup appears at the end of this message; I'm providing hereafter some more info that may not be immediately obvious.
This is dovecot 2.2.4 with changesets 9091d0f2d971 and 2be295a0b64f.
All involved databases are sqlite ones.
passdb and userdb are devised so as to change usernames.
For example, I could have a user with addresses

disable zlib via config to allow per mailbox compression level
Hello
Dovecot v2.0.5
zlib_save_level = 6 # 1..9
zlib_save = gz # or bz2
Is there a config option to disable zlib, even if above config are in
place? If so please provide an example.
If no, would it be possible to add one? Like if zlib_save_level = 0
disable zlib. So one can configure per mailbox compression level via
sql database.

Running LMTP as a user other than the root user
Hello,
With this one in Postfix' main.cf:
virtual_transport = lmtp:unix:/_ROOT/var/run/dovecot/lmtp
and Dovecot settings reproduced at the end of this message, there is no problem for having mail delivered into a user's INBOX.
But as soon as I try the security improvement suggested in the docs:
service lmtp {
user = dovemailer
}
this is what I get in the logs:

Default mbox file ownership and permissions with static userdb
Hi there!
I'm using Dovecot 1.1.7 in a simple setup with a static userdb:
userdb:
driver: static
args: uid=50018 gid=50019 home=/home/dovemail
When my users create folders via IMAP, the ownership of the mbox file is
user dovemail, group dovemail, and permissions are 600. I'd like this to
change to user dovemail, group doveusers, permissions 660, but I can't

If my assumption in my previous message is correct, you will have some
options:
a) have UserDB return "mail",
b) make mail_location depend on home via ~
c) create a symlink default location -> public
d) forward office to some other user where you

LMTP Setup/Design Help Request
Hi altogether,
I am switching from dbmail 2.2 to dovecot 2.1.7, and I was able to do a successful transition of IMAP. But I
had a very hard time with receiving mail, and in the end -- after loads of reading and debugging -- I broke
down and failed. This is why I am asking you for your kind help.
I only have virtual users and have set
mail_uid = dovemail
mail_gid = dovemail

My Dsync isn't replicating 'EXPUNGE' IMAP command
Hi!
I have two Dovecot-2.2.13 servers with Dsync Replication: server1 and
server2.
When I execute 'EXPUNGE' on server1 side, the messages with FLAG
\Deleted are expunged only on server1. The message is still present in
Server2.
Could someone give me a hint reason for this ?
Thanks in advance!

enable/disable shared namespace in passdb
hello all
i'm currently using passdb to enable and disable various namespaces
conditionally : for example the following work
namespace/inbox/inbox=no
namespace/legacy_pfso/disabled=no
namespace/legacy_pfso/inbox=no
namespace/local_storage/disabled=no
namespace/comboINBOX_local_pfso/disabled=no
namespace/comboINBOX_local_pfso/inbox=yes
but i can't get things like the following to work

mailutil?
dbox format needs at least two tools:
1. Expunging only marks the message having refcount=0. The actual disk
space is freed only after calling a tool pointing to the user's dbox
dir.
2. Ability to force index resync/rebuild in case it doesn't figure out
itself that there's something wrong.
I'm starting to think about building a more generic mailutil tool, maybe
something similar

Login via IMAP with MySQL as user database not working
Hello all,
I am migrating from Postfix/Cyrus/MySQL mail server to a recently installed
dovecot 1.2.8 on a QNAP TS259 NAS via XDove.
I am unable to login via IMAP (the only method I've tried and the only
method I want).
I am using an almost identical database as the current existing
Postfix/Cyrus/MySQL setup (with the except of paths).
I have been attempting to get this working (off and on)

Dovecot not processing through Sieve
Hello everyone,
I'm fairly new to Dovecot, but I've gotten the majority of things working
except for Sieve. I'm running Dovecot 1.2.9 coupled with Postfix and
SpamAssassin all with a virtual domains setup. I am receiving mail and it
is being processed by all the plugins that operate through Postfix. The
quota configured in Dovecot appears to be working because my mail client

Replication: "cross-updates" of mail meta-data
Hello
I have a two-server dovecot setup using replication. Each server runs
two dovecot instances, one for director and another for the backend.
Initially I set up a single server, got it all working, then rsync'd the
data and index partitions to the new one and started the clusters (I
used rsync as a way to speed-up dovecot's initial replication). Both
servers listen on a virtual IP

Hello,
I''m getting this warning:

Does anyone know why or how to change it so it disappears?
Thanks

find it again.
I have this association:

"position",
:dependent => :destroy, :include => :questions
but since the Question object has a position column, the query comes back with
