Mbox corruption - Inbox beginning with 'FFrom' or 'FrFrom'
Hello, we're having some problems with our dovecot setup. I've seen similar problems in the mailing list some years ago but alas wasn't able to find a solution. Our setup is as follows : An MX farm (postfix) sends mails via LMTP to a director farm (dovecot 2.1.12) which proxies pop3/imap/lmtp traffic to a dovecot farm (dovecot 2.1.16). All mailboxes and indexes are on NFS and all

lmtp problem with wrong index path
Hello, we've been using dovecot for pop3 and imap for some time now and we're in the middle of deploying lmtp as well, however we're run into a problem we can't solve. Specifically for some reason it seems that dovecot tries to write to the wrong index file during some, but not all, lmtp deliveries. If lmtp tries to deliver to person user_a at domain, sometimes it'll try to

Convert MBOX
To all, I am using dovecot --version 1.0.10 and trying to convert MBOXes to MailDir's with the end goal of creating one folder filled with users old MBOXes that when they log in for the first time will be converted to Mail Dir format. I tried this and it did not work and gave me this output; <snip> default_mail_env = maildir:%h/mail/ #convert_mail =

dovecot-1.2.6: Panic: pool_data_stack_realloc(): stack frame changed
When playing with large numbers of IMAP keywords on dovecot-1.2.6 imap crashed: Panic: pool_data_stack_realloc(): stack frame changed Looks like either maildir_file_do() shouldn't T_BEGIN/T_END or the keywords array should start larger. 0 libSystem.B.dylib 0x00007fff875f4eba __kill + 10 1 libSystem.B.dylib 0x00007fff875f4eac kill + 14 2 libSystem.B.dylib

DoveCot LDA prefetch fails with LDA, works with POP client
Hi there, I am using DoveCot 1.0.7. I know it is real old, but we have to work with it. I have configured LDAP lookup with password prefetch in DoveCot. I can successfully receive emails through DoveCot, thus proving my password prefetch and user authentication are good. The problem is when I use Postfix to deliver message to DoveCot via LDA. My postfix master.cf looks like this: dovecot

SunOS pop01.unix 5.10 Generic_118844-26 i86pc i386 i86pc dovecot-1.0.beta3 It is most likely something I am doing wrong, but could someone take a look at why I can not get LDAP prefetch to work? If I define things like this: dovecot.conf: ---------------------------------------------- passdb ldap { args = /usr/local/etc/dovecot-ldap.conf } userdb ldap { args =

trouble with setting individual quota values for multiple namespaces
Hello all please apologize that I repost this problem again. I tried to get some help several times on the list but did not find/get a solution. I am still struggling to setup different quotas for namespaces. In addition to the default "INBOX" namespace I have created a namespace called "MailArchive" which should have its own quota value of 5G per user. At first I

Solved? - Re: Understanding quotas
I spent an evening, again, reading up on quota. This time I think my search foo was strong enough. I found guidance and came up with the following: sed -i -e "s/#quota = /sqlquota = /w /dev/stdout" /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf Sets up a dovecot dictionary of sqlquota to the default file of /etc/dovecot/dovecot-dict-sql.conf.ext cat

Busyloop in dovecot-auth
SunOS pop01.unix 5.10 Generic_118844-26 i86pc i386 i86pc dovecot-1.0.beta3 Dovecot itself runs well, and was easy to confirgure with LDAP. However, I am seeing a cpu busy-loop in dovecot-auth. Is this a known issue, or do you know why it happens? If needed I can go deeper if so required. PID USERNAME LWP PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME CPU COMMAND 26440 root 1 10 0 4232K

But I don't know how to fix it. And I spotted something,

Fatal: nfs flush requires mail_fsync=always
Hiya all, I'm seeing this "Fatal: nfs flush requires mail_fsync=always" error on my testbed. The issue is that from what I can see, mail_fsync is set to always : # doveconf -n | grep mail_fs mail_fsync = always The result is that the client does not connect at all, which is not really what I wanted to happen :) Any idea what is going wrong here? Best regards S?ren P. Skou

quota clone + mysql + duplicate key
I'm trying to setup quota clone with mysql on dovecot 2.2.29.1. I see in the wiki that the table is always updated to the new value (https://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/QuotaClone) : > Every time quota is updated, the value is updated to the cloned dict. > There are race conditions with it so the quota may not always be 100% > correct. The old value is always replaced with the new one
