Problem to many connection
I'm desperate. My English is terrible, but I will try to be as clear as
possible.
I have Samba 4.4.4 in a Centos 7.
I have many connections for each ip.
The command smbstatus -b returns me infinity of these:

smb.service fails to start after openSUSE Tumbleweed update
Hai,
Yes that is know.
Enable and change the range to a, for you usable range, outside the current ranges.
Example:
idmap config * : backend = tdb
idmap config * : range = 3000-7999
Now start samba and winbind.
And posting you smb.conf really helps of analyze things like this.

confusion and problem with Samba v3.3.8 as PDC with ldapsam backend
Hello,
I'm trying to use samba v3.3.8 on Centos 5.5 to act as a PDC, using ldap as
the backend for users, groups, and computers. The ldap I'm using is Centos
Directory Server v8.1.
The setting is a new, never used before, installation of samba and ldap.
There are no users other than what exists by default after a Centos
install. The smb.conf contains what is my best guess for the

"net getdomainsid" reporting "Could not fetch local SID" -- am I using this command appropriately?
Good evening,
Distro: ClearOS 6.3 (RHEL-derived with a distro-specific web
configuration tool for samba) I'm only about 90% sure it's version
6.3.
Samba version: 3.6.10-1.v6
Intended use: NT4-style PDC for Windows XP clients
Issue:
My distro's "add machine script" uses the output of "net getdomainsid"
to help populate the new machine account's sambaSID field

SID of member server in Samba domain (smbldap_search_domain_info: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL)
I have a domain with Samba 3 acting as PDC, and using LDAP (passdb backend = ldapsam).
I now wanted to add a second Samba 3 machine as a simple file server. I get errors
with getdomainsid and getlocalsid, so there is obviously still something wrong with
my config.
The PDC runs Samba 3.5.6 on Debian Squeeze. Sid queries return:
    # net getdomainsid
SID for local machine MY_PDC_HOST is:

winbind problem
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a qnap TS-209Pro [www.qnap.com].
This embeds samba 3.0.23d.I configured it to connect to our Active
Directory, but as soon as I set winbind enum users and winbind enum groups
to "yes" in the /etc/smb.conf file, winbindd uses 100% of CPU. I've googled
the problem and found a lot of problems, less solutions... Does anybody have
a clue on this ?
I have

Samba4 machine fails to join in samba3 domain
Louis is right, you should upgrade, but, in the meantime, try adding
'ntlm auth = yes' to your smb.conf, see if that helps.

Clussicupgrade tdbsam
Hello,
i try to upgrade NT4 to AD.
The NT4 domain has name foobar.example.com. i need to rename the domain
to samdom.example.com.
Is there a way to rename all entry in tdb before classicupgrade?
tdbtool passdb.tdb list show something like
hash=0

When is a machine SID created?
I have been having a problem with 'net getdomainsid' on a machine that I
set up to be a BDC.
# net getdomainsid
Could not fetch local SID
tdbdump shows that there is no machine SID in secrets.db, so I'm thinking
that I overlooked the step that creates a machine SID. What creates the machine
SID and when? Also, is it the hostname or the netbios name that samba uses as
the machine
