panel data analysis possible with mle2 (bbmle)?
Dear R community, I want to estimate coefficients in a (non-linear) system of equations using 'mle2' from the "bbmle" package. Right now the whole data is read in as just one long time series, when it's actually 9 cross sections with 30 observations each. I would like to be able to test and correct for autocorrelation but haven't found a way to do this in this package.

Gluster 3.4.0 RDMA stops working with more then a small handful of nodes
I was wondering if anyone on this list has run into this problem. When creating/mounting RDMA volumes of ~half dozen or less nodes - I am able to successfully create, start, and mount these RDMA only volumes. However if I try to scale this to 20, 50, or even 100 nodes RDMA only volumes completely fall over on themselves. Some of the basic symptoms I'm seeing are: * Volume create always

Latest glusterfs 3.8.5 server not compatible with livbirt libgfapi access
Hi, After updating glusterfs server to 3.8.5 (from Centos-gluster-3.8.repo) the KVM virtual machines (qemu-kvm-ev-2.3.0-31) that access storage using libgfapi are no longer able to start. ordering in 'gnls' with 'corCompSymm' corStruct
Dear R-devel members, While writing a new correlation structure similar to 'corCompSymm' and intended to be used with 'gnls', I got puzzled with the 'Initialize' method. Using 'Initialize' before 'gnls' may be regarded as a mean to set an initial value for the corStruct parameter. However 'gnls' does not work properly with a

Color2D.matplot uniform color range
Hi all. I am having a problem using color2D.matplot I am trying to visualize several different matrices under two color ranges. One color range corresponds to values less than 1 and the second color range for values greater than 1. However, the minimum value of each matrix differs and is automatically set to have the smallest value in the color range. Similarly, the maximum value of each matrix

gls yields much smaller std. errors with different base for contrasts
Dear List, After running a compound symmetric model using gls, I realized that the default contrasts were not the ones that made the most sense given the biological relationships among the factor levels. When I either changed the factor levels to re-arrange the order they occur in the gls model (not shown below) OR specifically change the contrasts I get the exact same estimates for the

unexpected "false convergence"
I've come into some code that produces different results under R 2.1.1 and R 2.2.1. I'm really unfamiliar with the libraries in question (MASS and nlme), so I don't know if this is a bug in my code, or a regression in R. If it's a bug on my end, I'd appreciate any advice on potential causes and relevant documentation. The code:

plotrix_3.2
Hi all, plotrix 3.2 has arrived. The reason for this announcement is that there have been a couple of major rewrites. The barNest family of functions has had an overhaul that began as a fix for an apparently trivial bug that caused problems with empty subcategories. So far, testing has not found anything that will break code written for the former version. color.scale will now convert

gls prediction using the correlation structure in nlme
How does one coerce predict.gls to incorporate the fitted correlation structure from the gls object into predictions? In the example below the AR(1) process with phi=0.545 is not used with predict.gls. Is there another function that does this? I'm going to want to fit a few dozen models varying in order from AR(1) to AR(3) and would like to look at the fits with the correlation structure

Error when using s.multinom() of the ade4 package - %PCA and MCOA
Hello, I am working with s.multinom() from the ade4package. I tried to plot the results of my %PCA (via the function dudi.pca()) followed by a MCOA (mcoa()). But when I give my variables to s.multinom() I get the following Error message: Error in FUN(1:14[[1L]], ...) : number 1 profile without data I know that it has to do with one (or two?) of the first arguments (kpca, sglmarkerfrq) but I just

I have a dell precision 380: http://catalog.us.dell.com/CS1/CS1Page2.aspx?br=6&c=us&cs=555&fm=11210&l=en&s=biz with an Intel Matrix Storage Manager ICH7R RAID Controller http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/cs-020663.htm I need to get CentOS 3 installed on this thing but can't due to the fact that the controller is not supported in 2.4 kernels. GVN / Alias Analysis issue with llvm.masked.scatter/gather intrinsics
+ a few others. After following this rabbit hole a bit, there are a lot of mutually recursive calls, etc, that may or may not do the right thing with vectors of pointers. I can fix *this* particular bug with the attached patch. However, it's mostly papering over stuff. Nothing seems to know what to do with a memorylocation that is a vector of pointers. They all expect memorylocation to be a

geo-replication command rsync returned with 3
Dear All, we are running a dist. repl. volume on 4 nodes including geo-replication to another location. the geo-replication was running fine for months. since 18th jan. the geo-replication is faulty. the geo-rep log on the master shows following error in a loop while the logs on the slave just show 'I'nformations... somehow suspicious are the frequent 'shutting down connection'

Networking problems with fresh install
I just did a fresh install of centos 5.0 from cd, followed by yum update which installed 399 packages. No failures or errors that I can see. I have three nics in the box, but am only setting up one at the moment. The box can ping others in my network, but if I try ssh, telnet, ftp, etc I get this: [root at cm network-scripts]# ftp watchdog ftp: connect: No route to host ftp> [root at cm

RFC: [PATCH] Add TCP congestion control and Diffserv options
In the bufferbloat age, anything that can make for a kinder, gentler bulk transfer protocol seems desirable. This add support for user and server selectable congestion control algorithms. As examples: --congestion-alg=lp # For the tcp-lp algorithm on the command line Or in a subsection: [mystuff] congestion alg = westwood # for a wireless connection And diffserv support: --diffserv=8 for
