imapc - different settings for different namespaces
Originally I was planning on allowing all kinds of mail settings inside namespace {}, including imapc_* settings. But that's a bit difficult to implement (although I think it will happen some day). So for now I was thinking: imapc foo { host = imap.foo.com master_user = foomaster password = foopass } imapc bar { host = imap.bar.com ... } namespace { prefix = foo/ location =

Documentation Bug
In https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Tools/Doveadm/Sync#section_arguments the destination list 5 possible options for the destination but in the page on migration https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Migration/Dsync it seems to use a sixth undocumented "imapc:" option for destination e.g. doveadm -o mail_fsync=never backup -R -u user at domain imapc: "imapc:" is also referenced on

pop3c migration?
Hi, I'm running dsync migrations using imapc and the source IMAP server is just too slow. It has taken 8 hours to migrate a mailbox with 47,000 messages. It seems most of the mailboxes are never accessed with IMAP, so it would be just as good to migrate them via POP3 which should work faster in my case. Is this actually meant to work? doveadm -D -o pop3c_user=xxxxxx at example.com -o

ACLs - creating new top level folders
Hi, I'm wondering, whether it's possible, to define an ACL on the mailbox itself. We use Dovecot 1.2.15 (included in Debian 6) and maildir filesystem layout: /home/mail01/user1/Maildir/new \ /home/mail01/user1/Maildir/cur Inbox /home/mail01/user1/Maildir/tmp / /home/mail01/user1/Maildir/.folder1/new \ /home/mail01/user1/Maildir/.folder1/cur folder1

LMTP : Can't handle mixed proxy/non-proxy destinations
Hello, In my current setup, I uses two mailservers to handle the users connections, and my emails are stored on a distant server using NFS (maildir architecture) Dovecot is both my IMAP server and the delivery agent (LMTP via postfix) To avoid indexing issues related to NFS, proxying is enabled both on IMAP and LMTP. But when a mail is sent to users that are shared between the servers, I got the

Understanding why Dovecot unexpectedly died
Hi list! I use Dovecot 1.2.17 (I can't upgrade right now, due to many reasons), controlled by Pacemaker (I have an HA-Cluster). Now I see that Pacemaker restarts often Dovecot. I wrote my own script to manage Dovecot, since Pacemaker does not have his own. My script, by the "monitor" section has this: monitor) if [ ! -e $OCF_RESKEY_pid ]; then

doveadm/dsync/imapc and foldernames including a "%"
We're using doveadm/dsync/imapc to migrate accounts from Courier to Dovecot 2.2.20. On the source-server some user have folder names including a "%" in their name. Looks like doveadm isn't able to handle that folder names. I always stops with: dsync(testtest): Error: Failed to access mailbox INBOX.Test%TEST: Mailbox does not exist, or must be subscribed to. I'm tried to sync mailboxes from another server after clean mail directory localy: # dsync -v -o imapc_user="user at example.org" -o imapc_password="pass" -o imapc_host=imap.example.org -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o mailbox_list_index=no backup -R -f -u

dsync imapc authentication mechanisms
I'm trying to use dsync to mirror mail onto a remote IMAP server. The remote server is generating an error that authentication via plain text is not permitted. Does dsync imapc support any non-clear-text authentication mechanisms? The remote server supports: AUTH=CRAM-MD5 AUTH=DIGEST-MD5 AUTH=NTLM -- Randall Gellens Opinions are personal; facts are suspect; I speak for myself

IMAP to Maildir Migration preserving UIDs?
Hello all, I'm facing the need to migrate from a proprietary IMAP server to Dovecot. The migration must be as smooth and transparent as possible. The mailbox format I would want to use is Maildir++. The storage format used by the current server is unknown, and I don't look forward to trying to reverse-engineer it. This leaves me with the option of reading the mailboxes using IMAP.

Dovecot 1.2.9. next_uid was lowered
Hi There A while ago I posted here about a crash of dovecot, that had to do with nfs and was quite certainly due to bad luck. But still one problem persists: We have a Mailbox, that is accessed from multiple users using IMAP. Occasionally all the Emails in the mailbox seem to be missing, when accessing the Mailbox through IMAP, although they're still there on the server. This seems to

imapc and imap_acl
Hello (Timo), yes, I know... maybe it's a bit far fetched, but I do have a use case. Would it be (reasonably easily) possible to implement IMAP ACL support for "imported" imapc namespaces/mailboxes? There is no local directory (like with the virtual plugin) yet... Greetings, Lutz -- Lutz Pre?ler <Lutz.Pressler at SerNet.DE> http://www.SerNet.DE/ SerNet Service

Is it possible to disable pipelining in imapc?
Hi, I've a broken IMAP server, which doesn't support pipelining and fails on dovecot's attempt to do this ([C] is dovecot's imapc, [S] is the IMAP server): [C] 24 LOGIN "user" "pass" [S] 23 OK [C] 25 SELECT "INBOX" [C] 23 UID FETCH 2 (INTERNALDATE) [S] 25 OK [S] 23 BAD No mailbox selected Sadly, fixing the server would be a hard task, turning off
