ldap host attribute is ignored
Thanks a lot for looking over the config.
I am at the topic "user data is available"
id <username>
and
getent passwd
and
ldapsearch -x -b "ou=XXX,o=YYY" uid=<username>
give the correct results
ldapsearch gives also the correct host attribute i have set in the ldap
server.
Regarding the manpage of sssd.conf the lines

Samba share authentication using SSSD
Hi,
Here is my desired configuration:
An external LDAP server, Samba 4.1.8 (not configured as a member server
or as a domain controller), and SSSD configured with the external LDAP
server. Authentication locally and via ssh works fine using pam_sss.so.
When attempting to authenticate a share on windows using an LDAP users
credentials, the request fails with NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. I'd like

SSSD configuration
Hello,
we're upgrading from Centos 5.8 to Centos 6.3 and have realized few
things have changed in the system.
We're using LDAP authentication (nss_ldap package) on our Centos 5.8
servers and have different PAM ldap configuration files configured to be
used for specific PAM services.
Here is the example of our setup:
/etc/pam.d/service1:
auth sufficient pam_ldap.so

snmpwalk Mixed Fail
Hi All,
I have a C6 (latest patches) physical machine that I use for network and
server monitoring, predominantly over SNMP. It is on VLAN80. My
network management interfaces on the switches are on VLAN50 with routing
between the VLANs. I recently changed the router to a CISCO ASA 5505
(reasonably recent IOS version, certainly post HeartBleed), with the
management interface on a higher

Secure VNC access from iPad
Dear Gurus
If any of you have been successful in using an iPad as a VNC client
with SSH tunnelling, I'd love to know how it's done. I have tried
using the iSSH application, but without success.
I know that the server is accessible from a Windows client (using
TigerVNC), via an SSH tunnel, so the server is properly configured.
If you have a working example, please let me know what

Problem with PAM/SSSD/SAMBA4.1.2
Hi
I hope that I am not totally wrong when asking this on a Samba list, but
as I followed a tutorial found at the SAMBA wiki I hope I can find
someone how is able to help me.
My goal is to set up a server acting as a SAMBA AD Server with single
sign on for linux users.
I use a Ubuntu Server 13.10 as the base. On top of this I installed a
SAMBA 4.1.2 from GIT, did provisioning, Kerberos

sssd problems after dc1 is no longer online
Hi all,
I hope that this request for help will be the last one, for a while to
come. Today, sernet support helped my sort out our DC mess, and they did
a great job. However, sssd no longer works, and I hope someone here can
help out.
We used to have DC1, DC2 and DC3. DC1 was the classic-upgraded, first,
'original' DC, and had to be shutdown, unfortunately. So only DC2 and

I need to upload files larger than 4.4Gb (iso DVD) on CentOS (5.5 x64)
http server (httpd-2.2.3-43.el5.centos)
On the apache server set in my /etc/php.ini
upload_max_filesize = 4900M

In my httpd.conf I set :

I'm using firefox and/or chrome client for upload a file with 4.2gb size

Problem with process_limit
Hello,
i have a problem with the process_limit configuration.
Occasionally, it happens that the dovecot.log shows this line:
master: Warning: service(imap): process_limit reached, client connections
are being dropped
So I checked, the process number, with the command:
ps auxwww | grep imap | grep -v login | wc -l
and it shows 1024.
Then, i edited the file /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-master.conf and

Problem with hard links in lda - please help
Hello,
I'm trying to enable hardlinks for messages sent to mutiple users. (I need
this because I have mailing lists with 5000 users used many times a day).
I've read that, to do this, I have to write a script that uses the
/usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver
command in this way:
deliver -p <FILE> -d <USER1> -d <USER2>
Of course, I enabled the "socket listen"

Anyone using trac on centos?
(Besides Paul, who's busy?)
I just need one question answered: I keep reading the docs, and given the
old traditional
/var/www
I get that part of trac should be installed in /var/www/trac/<myproj> (I
think); what I can't figure out is whether there is *anything* under the
document root, that is, /var/www/html/trac/<myproject>.
Anyone have a clue? Do I even need it as a

Selinux blocking bind access to named/data and slave directories
I was getting permission errors (seen in /var/log/messages) in accessing
these two directories within my chroot tree. I was pulling out what
little hair I have, as the permissions were identical to those on my
Centos 5.5 server. So I switched selinux into permissive mode and now I
have /var/named/chroot/var/named/data/named.run and my ..../named/slave/
stubs.
What is the selinux magic to

No. See my previous message. I think it's the result of copying
portions of SuSE configurations.

pam dovecot not working with authentication from roundcube
Hi Everyone,
I made some small changes in my dovecot setup to switch it from looking
up users and passwords from a mix of ldap (i.e. freeipa) and password
files. One of the changes was to switch from using one id for all
authentication to using individual ids)
It's working fine with Evolution. I have one account authenticating
with GSSAPI, which is my userid for logging into my desktop and
