port forwarding
Hi, I'm using CentOS release 5.6 (Final) and Xen 3.1. I'm writing to ask how to configure port forwarding. With virt-manager 0.6.1 I added the machines, but there I don't see an option for port forwarding. I would like to reach the VM on a specific port of the host machine. Once the machinces are running, I can configure iptables so that the port forwarding works, but after

Problem excluding directories on windows
Hi, I'm using rsync 2.6.2 (and cygwin 1.5.10) for backups of my folders on my PC. rsync cannot open two system subdirectories in my home directory: "Program Files" and "System Volume Information". I tried including them in the exclude-file, to no avail. I suspect the problem may be the spaces in the directory names, but I could find no reference to that. I have

Old metadata for centosplus 4 repo.
Hi Centos maintainers ! Could You please refresh repo data for centosplus reposytory 4 ? There are new kernels rpms, but repo index files arn't updated. Please fix that. For example: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/x86_64/ rpm from 20 oct 2010 but meatadata from 28 sep 2010 ... P.S: That was 17 nov 2010 fixed for centosplus 5 repo, but centosplus 4 was omitted. Best regards,

EPEL - Clamav update?
EPEL maintainers? I note messages in the log about updated version 0.99.1 of CLAMAV being available since Mar 5th. for CentOS 6 no update is available yet. I used to use rpmforge for this package but that languished for months before updates became available and eventually stopped altogether. Is there something I can do to assist in getting this package updated? I have no idea if this is a

Samba AD - two servers - backup and restore AD procedure
Hi All! I would be grateful for clarification of my doubts about backups and restoration of the AD environment. What is the best strategy for backing up and restoring a Samba AD domain in the following scenarios: * server1 - active directory service (7 FSMO roles) * server2 - active directory service + Samba file server The considered disaster recovery scenarios are: - Corruption of the AD

OT: bareos, Windoze, beating head on wall
Again, I'm posting here because when I tried their mailing list, I didn't get much response. I'm trying to do a restore, from my CentOS 6 box, to a WinDoze box. The restore command is *not* user-friendly if you just want to restore a few files. And it gets weird.... First, I have to mark my path first - I don't just see it with ls. Then, when I do an ls, in

imaps on alternate ports
I'm trying to test out dovecot 1.0 alpha 3 prior to an upgrade from dovecot-0.99.14, but I cannot get imaps listening on anything other than 993. I've tried putting listen = *:2023 in the global section or in the imap { } section. No luck. What is the proper format for a config that only runs imaps and only listens on a particular port? -- Andrew Clark Campus Network Programmer

IMAPs and POP3s poxying
Hi All, I have a polotical situation at work that requires that I off-load mail access to a host other than the one our users have configured in their clients. I don't have access to any of the switching or routing to our hosts, and there's only a 1 to 1 relationship between the proxy I want to set up and the actual mail handler. I was looking at the proxying Howto in the Wiki and

pop3s fails, imaps works great
hey all- i'm running dovecot-0.99.10p2 on OpenBSD 3.4-snapshot (installed from ports). i have had 0 problems with imaps -- it's been running like a charm! however, i'm trying to get pop3s set up for some of my users, but i can't seem to connect from ANY client. in /etc/dovecot.conf, i've got: protocols = imaps pop3s and i've also got pop3s_listen set up with the

run POP3S + IMAPS simultaneously?
a quick one: is it possible to run POP3S and IMAPS services through dovecot at the same time? would i just uncomment both "login = imap" and "login = pop3" in /etc/dovecot.conf? or can i only run one at a time? apologies if the answer is obvious, i'm just still trying to wrap my head around all of this. thanks, darren david

dovecot with different POP3S / IMAPS Certs
Hi, I'm new to dovecot, but actually planning to switch a wide WU-IMAP/POP installation to dovecot. With WU-IMAP, a different certificate can be used by pop3s and imaps, allowing both server to be reachable through different hostnames, without SSL complaints on the client side; this is mostly used for scalability. I'm trying to do the same thing with dovecot; that is having dovecot using

migration from bincimap to dovecot (imaps)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi folks, I've installed dovecot 0.99.14 (last port on my freebsd system), and now I've to migrate from bincimap. My system uses qmail with vpopmail (uid/gid 89) and Maildir format. Well, now the authentication is ok, but when I try to connect to mailbox I receive an error like "IMAP command SELECT failed". My dovecot.conf:

imaps only, and on a nonstandard port?
I'm trying to get dovecot configured to: 1) Only do imaps 2) Do imaps on port 500 I've tried "ssl_listen = *:500" both globally and in my "protocol imap" section, but neither seems to be working. Is there a way of doing this? Thanks!

After restart dovecot do not serves IMAPS anymore
I had to restart computer yesterday and now Dovecot has strange behaviour. Dovecot is running and should serve IMAPS, but client Mozilla Thunderbird cannot connect. I tried openssl s_client -connect localhost:993 and it said only CONNECTED(00000003). A time ago when everything was OK, the listing after connection was "a bit" longer than it is now. I remember there was "OK,
