v2.2.2 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/2.2/dovecot-2.2.2.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/2.2/dovecot-2.2.2.tar.gz.sig It's been a while since v2.2.1. I think all of the bad bugs in v2.2 series should be fixed by now, so here's a new release. I think there are still some small URLAUTH bugs left though, so you might want to wait before enabling it in production (imap_urlauth_host is empty by

Released Pigeonhole v0.4.2 for Dovecot v2.2.6 and Pigeonhole v0.3.6 for Dovecot v2.1.17.
Hello Dovecot users, Now that Dovecot v2.2.6 is released, I can release a new Pigeonhole. Due to the SO_REUSEPORT changes in Dovecot, this Pigeonhole release will not compile cleanly against older Dovecot releases. This release is mainly about bugfixes. I also made a new release for Dovecot v2.1.17 that includes most of these fixes and some older ones. A word of warning for people using doveadm

bug in acl_defaults_from_inbox option
Hi at all, there is a bug in in acl_defaults_from_inbox option: if you define it with ANY value ('yes', 'no', 'whatyouwant', 'xxx') it acts like the value is ALWAYS 'yes', and Dovecot enable it; the only way to disable it, is comment it or delete from configuration file. With 'acl_defaults_from_inbox = no', or 'acl_defaults_from_inbox =

Services not starting in 2.1 (or 2.2)
I'm trying to install Dovecot onto my QNAP NAS. I apologise for this! It means I'm not working in a normal environment, and don't (necessarily) have the normal range of tools available (or the most up to date version of those tools). It seems that 2.0.21 works (at least, as far as I've tested), but 2.1.17 and 2.2.4 won't start up their child services. I've got the

0.99.0 released
I figured now would be a good time for new release. All the major changes are pretty much done now. v0.99.0 2002-11-24 Timo Sirainen <tss at iki.fi> + Replaced hash file with binary tree file which makes Dovecot stay fast with large mailboxes after expunging multiple mails. + Several speed improvements with SEARCH + SEARCH CHARSET support using iconv(), although case-insensitive

Fault in dovecot 2.1.17
The system hang, linux from scratch. I have changed the live kernel from linux-2.6.35.4 to linux-2.6.32.61 , to see if the fault still occurs. The kernel 2.6.35.4 was working fine with all version up to dovecot 2.1.12 , from which i made update to 2.1.17. dovecot -n # 2.1.17: /usr/dovecot21/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.32.61 i686 auth_cache_negative_ttl = 1 secs auth_cache_size = 2

http://dovecot.org/releases/2.1/rc/dovecot-2.1.rc1.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/2.1/rc/dovecot-2.1.rc1.tar.gz.sig I'll probably release v2.1.0 pretty soon, unless people report some new bugs. Maybe it's because this is the first time in last 5 years when all branches of Dovecot have been quite stable and I haven't been stressing on

v2.1.8 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/2.1/dovecot-2.1.8.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/2.1/dovecot-2.1.8.tar.gz.sig Most importantly fixes a pretty bad behavior of sending mailbox names as UTF-8 instead of mUTF-7 as required by IMAP RFC. I'm surprised nobody hadn't noticed this in v2.1.x tree before yesterday. I guess some clients might have translated the name to UTF-8 anyway and not noticed

[PATCH 0/2] Cygwin: allow user and group case-insensitive Unicode strings
Windows usernames are case-insensitive and almost any Unicode character is allowed in a username. The user should be able to login with her username given in any case and not be refused. However, this opens up a security problem in terms of the sshd_config Match rules. The match rules for user and group names have to operate case-insensitive as well, otherwise the user can override her settings

ACL problems on shared folder
Hello, I've a Dovecot Server Version 2.2.30.2 running on CentOS 6.9 and there's a problem with acls on shared folder. We have some mailboxes which are shared and used as a "group mailbox" and also some user who share their inbox and only the inbox when they are on holiday e.g.. When I set "acl_defaults_from_inbox = yes" it's not possible to restrict the access
