Deduplicate not processing all messages - bug?
Hello, I'm trying to create automated backup recovery using "doveadm import" and "doveadm deduplicate". During testing I noticed that deduplicate only deletes some duplicates and has to be called multiple times to find them all. Here's what I've been trying (in shell commands): First, expunge inbox (the end result is the same even if you delete only some

Deleting messages from filesystem with sdbox mail format
Dear list, I recently had to delete some messages from an sdbox mailbox, for which I used the canonical "doveadm expunge" command without issues. However I got curious and, on a test mailbox, I deleted an unimportant message directly from the filesystem (rm u.650). After removing the file, the webmail continued to show it in the mail list - but no text was retrieved when I selected

This should also do the job. As I said in my OP I could use doveadm-expunge with a search query. But I've done that and

dovecot expunge
Hi, Do we have expunge command by UID. I have some duplicate messages (same Message-ID but different UID) to be deleted. doveadm search gives me folder GUID and file UID, I want to use this specific information to delete/expunge. E.g. Following command deletes all duplicates, but I want to keep just one. doveadm expunge? -u user1 mailbox INBOX HEADER Message-ID

Non-destructive deduplication
Greetings. I use Dovecot 2.2.29.1 as my IMAP server. Owing to a bug in my mail client [1], several unique messages (mostly in my Sent folder) have duplicate Message-ID headers. Dovecot itself doesn't seem to be bothered by this, though my mail client is confused by the false duplicates. (It screws up the threading display, and results in data loss when I run the client's deduplication

sdbox filesystem backup potential excludes
When doing a filesystem backup of an moderate sdbox mailstore (300GB) - are there any files that can be safely excluded from the backup?? Like *.log or *.backup?? Or are they all "vital" for recovery? I'm already excluding the sdbox/virtual folders as it looks like they get created and updated as needed. -- Daniel

Released Pigeonhole v0.4.1 for Dovecot v2.2.4.
Hello Dovecot users, Now that I am not preoccupied anymore, I quickly release a new version of Pigeonhole for Dovecot v2.2. This consists mainly of bug fixes. One new feature is that the Sieve plugin will try to pass temporary failures (e.g. from mail storage) back to LDA/LMTP as much as possible. However, this change turned out a little bigger than I would have liked, so experiment with it

Deleting files in sdbox
Hello, I'm curious as to what happens if I were to manually delete files in an sdbox on the server. A long time ago -- I'm not sure how, as it was several years ago -- something happened and a number of users got a large number of mail messages duplicated. Literally duplicated -- all headers, all body content. I have a script that can find these duplicated messages (by ignoring the first

[RFC] - Deduplication of debug information in linkers (LLD).
Thanks for providing the experimental data! It clearly shows the value of type sections in DWARF. Regarding why type sections are off by default, aside from the issue of consumers needing to understand them, there is a size penalty to type sections that becomes more evident in smaller projects (meaning, fewer compilation units). The size penalty can be balanced against the amount of

Making LLD PDB generation faster
Hi, Is anyone working on making the PDB generation on LLD faster? Looking of a trace for linking one of our binaries (it takes 1min6s-1min20s) I see two things: 1) LookupBucketFor(Val, ConstFoundBucket); takes 35s so almost half of the time of linking, mostly finding duplicates 2) There is no parallelization inside of addObjectsToPDB Is anyone working on those? Also has anyone thought about

Replication oddities - different sizes between replicated nodes
Dear Dovecot community, As discussing on IRC with Aki, I have the following thing happening: I got an alert from my mailservice last night that I was running over quota. My quota reached almost 91% (coming from 30%) in one day. I do not recall receiving so much email (we talk about multiple gb?s additional space usage), so something was acting up. When I logged into my mailservers (I?ll
