Xen 4.1 compile from source and install on Fedora 17
Hello,
I have asked this question in Xen-users mailing list too. But since it
involves compiling from source, I realised asking this here makes more
sense. Please forgive me for the spam.
I am relatively new to Xen and need help compiling and installing Xen from
source.
Using some tutorials online, I have got Xen working with the ''yum install

Xen 4.1 compile from source and install on Fedora 17
Hello,
I am relatively new to Xen and need help compiling and installing Xen from
source.
Using some tutorials online, I have got Xen working with the ''yum install
xen'' method.
I used virt-manager and was able to get 2 domUs working ( CentOS 5, and
Fedora 16).
My domUs reside on Logical Volumes in an LVM, on a second hard disk sda2,
while my dom0 is installed on sda1.

Issues with p2v & virt-v2v Windows
It looks to me that the windows 2008 image I am attempting to convert is
not being detected as windows but is being updated as a Linux system.
When PXE booted the server with the p2v image I ended up with this
error:
Failed to launch guestfs appliance. Try running again with
LIBGUESTFS_DEBUG=1 for more information
The system image transferred and I was able to create an XML file to
boot it under

QUESTION: What, if anything, can I do so that I can use xl (in place of
xm) with libvirt 1.0.2 and Xen 4.2.1 in Ubuntu 13.04?
BACKGROUND: I am testing a fully updated (as of March 27) installation of
Ubuntu 13.04 that includes the following packages:
libvirt - version 1.0.2-0ubuntu9
xen-hypervisor-4.2-amd64 - version 4.2.1-0ubuntu1
Upon setting TOOLSTACK=xm in /etc/default/xen (as well as

unable to open a connection to the Xen hypervisor/daemon
Hello,
It seems that I have installed Xen 4.1.2 successfully. Because I can see
the following:

Time(s)
Domain-0 0 3328 2 r-----

However, when I try to launch virtual machine manager (by clicking the icon
directly), I see the following error

I get “Unable to connect to libvirt” when using virt-manager in combination
with the XL toolstack and Xen 4.2.1. (No problems when using virt-manager
in combination with the XM toolstack.) More details of the situation can
be found in a bug-report that I filed on launchpad. Please see:

Errors creating Domu with xl/xm on Xen 4.1.5 with Fedora Dom0
I want to get couple of DomUs running with Xen. I installed Xen 4.1.5 from
source on a Fedora 17 Dom0.
I did some reading on configuring DomUs using xl/xm and cfg files.

Thanks for replying Dario,
Yes, I saw your other e-mail too, but I''m afraid I can''t help much as I

I just want to get couple of DomUs running, that is all. I''m not particular

Ah yes, those. Replace the rpm -Uvh with yum update and it should resolve the dependencies for you. If that fails, just pass all of those deps (in "") to yum install.
Sorry about that!

Problems migrating xen domains
Hi.
I've set up a cluster with two Debian 6 nodes, running Xen 4 and libvirt 0.9 (from backports).
My VMs run over a DRBD resource, to allow live migration between the nodes.
I've successfully tried live migration using xm migrate, now I'd like to make it work using virsh, but cannot make it. Here's the error I'm getting:
# virsh migrate efw xen+ssh://10.22.22.152/
