[fdo] keyboard, keys editor on linux, write unicode without IME ?
Hi, Before starting, I must say that I haven't change my Linux OS (Mandrake 8.1) for 3 years. So, I dont't really know if there were a big evolution until now. I don't know if there is a possibility to edit keyboard on Linux (libxklavier ?...). If not, it should be launch by freedesktop.org. If yes, it should be a word about this. In this editor, there would be a list of all existing

[fdo] Ssh service interruption of freedesktop.org
Hi admins, thank you for maintaining useful development resources. But I'm in trouble. Please help. I and some developers are unable to use ssh login over 24 hours. Is there a intended service interruption? Or some problems are lying? I and some developers could slogin to freedesktop.org before the problem had occurred. My local environment has not altered in recent days. my source address:

[fdo] Updated syncmail script for new CVS loginfo syntax
Hi, If you are getting tired of being teased about updating your syncmail script to the new CVS loginfo syntax, this mail is for you. If you have opted to use the CIA script, you have already switched to the new loginfo format. If not, you need to do now. For that you need to add UseNewInfoFmtStrings=yes to the CVS config file. Then if you have script using the old format you can escape it

[fdo] Time to kill the fontconfig wiki?
Looking at http://www.fontconfig.org/wiki/TitleIndex I see it's around 99.9% pure spam. Other than the front page, virtually everything else is the moin-moin boilerplate or the hundreds of pages of spam. Even the Recent Changes & Find Page links have been overwritten by spammers hundreds of times, with the spammers fighting each other to crap on it most recently. (I restored them both

Questions about FLAC documentation
I'm implementing a FLAC decoder from scratch (save OGG stuff if I can help it) because libFLAC simply will not fit my embedded platform, For the most part I'm implementing using just the documentation but not all of the documentation is concise (especially about variable sized fields) and after looking at the libFLAC source I find myself befuddled so I thought it best to get the

Proposal: swfdec-gnome
Hi, I'd like to propose swfdec-gnome for inclusion into the GNOME 2.22 desktop. Swfdec-gnome is a recent addition to the Swfdec project [1]. Its purpose is integration of Flash files into the Gnome desktop. It currently provides a thumbnailer and a playback application for local files similar to the stand-alone application Adobe ships on Windows. It is supposed to replace the support that is

Running MCMCpack
Hi there, I am running MCMCpack (MCMCirt1d model) on some files (26 items x about 800 – 1200 individuals). I have a problem. When I am working on “big” files, the R program crashes. More precisely I got the following Microsoft Warning: ******************************************* Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\R\R-2.4.1\bin\Rgui.exe

[fdo] where to find fdo logos?
Hi, I have been looking for the freedesktop.org logo in a good resolution or even vector based, but I was not able to find it. If someone could point me to a ps, svg or other vector based version, that would be great. I saw a vector based version of the logo on Keith's screenshots of window-level image compositing, so they must be somewhere around there. If you have the logo in a higher

The Sims won't run with debugger
G'day, I'm using a cvs version from a few days ago, and I've just installed The Sims and its Livin' Large and House Party extensions with minimal fuss (the icons were missing in the first setup/autorun screens). Trying to run the program, it displays a dialog with the title "A debugger has been detected" and the text "Unload the debugger and try again". So,

[fdo] libtransset
Hi! I'm fledging transset into a tiny library to allow applications to make themselves (or parts of them) transparent. This will probably be obsolete by GDK 2.8, but I sort of need it now for a Tomboy plugin I'm doing. So here's the thing: It's doesn't work! *gasp* I almost copy-pasted the code from transset CVS, I get no errors, the window ID's are correct, the property

[fdo] Intel G35 / X3500 video tearing
I've recently set up a system built on an ASUS P5E-VM HDMI motherboard running Ubuntu 7.10 and I'm experiencing some very noticeable tearing during video playback with mplayer. I have read some discussion about video tearing with other Intel chipsets in the mailing list a while back but hadn't heard much about it lately. I've experimented with both xv and gl video output as well

[fdo] [ADMIN] Mail move, some weirdness
Hi all, Pascal Hakim and I have just moved our mail system to Postfix, from Exim 4. This was largely to ease our admin load, so we could help in despamming. We've already implemented support for XBL and SBL, as well as grey-listing. Unfortunately, there was a window of about 2 hours where mail was being accepted, but the LDAP recipient map was not active. As a result, some mail spooled in
