Samba4 and NVSv4
Short story: cannot get Kerberized NFSv4 to work. I've googled a great deal and cannot find where I have goofed (and there sure is a lot of misleading and just plain incorrect information out there), so would appreciate another pair of eyes. NFSv4 without Kerberos does work fine, as does ID mapping. We're using NFSv4 in production with sec=sys, but I'm not happy with that. My

Samba kerberos authentication issues with samba 3.0.7
Hello. I'm having difficulty running kerberized samba on my Linux box in my Windows ADS domain. Specifically, smbclient -k //server/share fails with a "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE" error message. I ran smbd with -d 3 debugging verbosity, and the following came out on stdout/stderr. I marked the interesting lines with ***'s: # smbd -i -d 3

Problems with ADS membership in win2k domain
I'm having problems with ADS membership for samba. I had a "mostly" working version with RHES v2.1, krb5 v1.2, samba v3.0.5. I knew to get to a fully functioning version I would need krb5 v1.3 or later. So finally I had an opertunity to junk RH's crufty krb5 and build from scratch with: RHES v2.1 MIT krb5 v1.4 samba v3.0.13 This works fine on another server. Now to the

Samba and kerberized NFSv4
Hi Marcel thx. for your fast response. I didn't manage to follow up sooner. I had already verbose logging turned on but I don't seem to find the real reason, why the domain controller searchs for a userPrincipalName instead of servicePrincipalName. Because I wasn't sure whether it is the nfs client process or the server process that failed to get the kerberos ticket when I tried the

Samba and kerberized NFSv4
Hi Folks I'm trying to share user home directories hosted on a Samba-4 member server via NFSv4. Everything's working well with the Windows shares but when it comes to kerberized NFSv4 it fails. I can't even mount the home root directory via nfs on the server itself ("mount.nfsv4: access denied by server while mounting ..."). As far as I have tracked it down, it appears to

missing enctypes in exported keytab
Dear all, this is using debian stretch and Louis' 4.8.11 packages. I am trying to export a keytab, and even for a UPN, samba does not export the AES keys. What could be the mistake? root at dc2:~# net ads enctypes list dns-dc2 'dns-dc2' uses "msDS-SupportedEncryptionTypes": 31 (0x0000001f) [X] 0x00000001 DES-CBC-CRC [X] 0x00000002 DES-CBC-MD5 [X] 0x00000004 RC4-HMAC [X]

samba with stronger enctypes (exportkeytab and kinit)
Hello, I have issue with samba-tool domain exportkeytab command, that is exporting keytab only with RC4 encryption, even though account (--principal) in the command has msDS-SupportedEncryptionTypes": 24 so, only AES128 AND AES256, I can later add other encryption types to the keytab, but I think I shouldn't have to, in the wiki section of samba in generating keytabs it's

Samba 3.0.2a with ADS w2k3 Active Directory, enctypes
Hi people, I have a Linux box running Samba 3.0.2a in ADS mode MIT Kerberos 1.3.3. My W2K e WXP users can't access the linux box by netbios name, the only access that works is by IP address, I know that's caused because access thought IP address don't make use of Kerberos. The most strange for me it's that the same environment works fine with a W2K Active Directory, I read in same

Privilege Attribute Certificate (PAC) Disabled/Samba authentication
Hi, I'm currently attempting to setup a Linux Samba and Kerberized NFS server using a Windows 2008 R2 Domain controller as a KDC and I've run into an issue. Currently I can make Kerberized NFS or Samba fileserving work but not both at the same time. Specifically: The Linux kerberized NFS daemon (rpc.svcgssd) appears to only be able to deal with service tickets up to a certain size.

RES: Samba 3.0.2a with ADS w2k3 Active Directory, enctype s
Hi Jim, I did what the doc says but the problem is the same. Does anybody saw this work ? I mean, is the Samba 3.0.2a+Kerberos MIT 1.3.3 able to be accessed by a WXP, W2K or W2K3 machine, using Kerberos tickets generated in a Windows 2003 KDC (W2K3 AD) ?
