trouble with crash utility
Hi all, I recently had an issue where, running kernel 2.6.32-358.11.1, the box would be up for about five minutes, then would crash and reboot. kdump saved the vmcore files, so I was hoping to run crash against them to see why this was occurring. I copied the vmcores to another machine, installed the kernel-debuginfo package, and gave it a try, but had no success: $ crash

couple of errors on new setup
I have stood up a new test mail server as an upgraded version of my existing mail server. I have been fairly consistently getting two types of error messages. I'm thinking they may be related permissions issues, but I can't figure out what their problem is. Oct 4 12:45:47 digory dovecot: imap(guenther): Error: file_dotlock_open() failed with file

Server dies after kernel upgrade
I am running a server with CentOS release 6.4 (Final) and the kernel version of 2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64 and everything looks ok, but when I do a yum update on the kernel to update it to a newer version "2.6.32-358.11.1.el6". It will not restart after the required reboot. It will start to load until the task bar at the bottom gets to the end than it stops loading I have been patient

Back to gspca
Ok... digging still more into this problem that I'm *still* fighting, using mplayer and a higher debug level, what I *think* the significant message is (this is just one example line): libv4lconvert: Error decompressing JPEG: fill_nbits error: need 5 more bits fps = 15.626953, interval = 0.096001, a_skew = 0.000000, corr_skew = 0.000000 vcnt = 1, acnt = 0 Which seems to indicate that for some

odd mcelogd problem
CentOS 6.4, 2.6.32-358.11.1.el6.x86_64 (And no, I can't just upgrade - the users have to be sure that the computational results will be correct....) It's throwing ECC errors. Trying to start mcelogd, first it said nothing. Restart told me "Please load edac_mce_amd module." I did a modprobe edac_mce_amd, and lsmod tells me it's in. But now service mcelogd restart Stopping

gspca and motion
We recently rebooted a lot of systems with the new kernel in 6.4, 2.6.32-358.11.1.el6.x86_64. Suddenly, we're having real problems with our cheap surveillance cameras in the "computer labs". What I see of video and jpg is only about 20%-25% of the top of the picture, and the rest is green. When the service starts, I see, in both dmesg and /var/log/messages, gspca: bandwidth not wide

gspca - running out of ideas
For video capture from a USB camera, as near as I can tell, there's a problem with the driver gspca_zc3xx with the latest update to the kernel. All our cameras were working fine before the update to 2.6.32-358.11.1; since, two cameras, both on fairly new Dell servers are screwed. Meanwhile, on some older servers, same update, no problems. Of the two bad ones, one's got AMD, and the other

dovecot 2.2.13 core dump (signal 11)
We just upgraded from 2.1.16 to 2.2.13. One user is experiencing problems when using the shared namespace. Specifically it happens when opening/reading a message and when deleting messages. These functions work for other users. So far, this appears to be only affecting one user. The shared folder is a local ext4 file system and utilizes acls # 2.2.13:

I'm hoping the community might be able to offer some

NTLM Authentication for Postfix SMTP clients
I'm trying to get NTLM authentication working with Dovecot to authenticate Postfix SMTP clients. I can authenticate postfix smtp clients using the plain text login mechanism through winbind. However, using the NTLM mechanism gives me an error in my maillog that says: "dovecot: auth: winbind(?,10.20.2.0): user not authenticated: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL". At this point,
