BSafe toolkits for implementing RSA public key algorithm
Has anyone had any experience with any of the BSafe toolkits that are available and contain support for the RSA public key algorithms? I would like to use one of RSA's toolkits in a port of a Windows OpenSSH client that I am working on, in order to avoid any licensing issues from RSA. Can anyone recommend a good toolkit? I understand that there a number of them, such as BSafe SSL-C, SLPlus,

wxRuby and other GUI toolkits
So, having subscribed recently to the ruby-talk mailing list, I''ve noticed that wxruby doesn''t seem to have the "respect" of other GUI libraries. I know GUI-library preference is a holy war almost up there with vi versus emacs, but since I''m a wxruby developer, I''d like to know what people "don''t" like about wxruby. Otherwise,

RE: [R] GUI support from R
Hi Duncan, I've been looking around at GUI toolkits to use with Python (and by extension R). I initially tried Tk, but was disappointed because there is no consistent set of high level widgets. I've subsequently done some looking at QT, wxWindows, and GTK. QT is out because I am a *commercial* user, and I don't want to have a license hassle. GTK seemed to have a lower level of

[fdo] Just an idea on addressing cross platform HIGs
I just read this article (http://www.wpdfd.com/editorial/wpd0504review.htm) ad noticed some points about "Mac users VS The Gimp interface" and some "not conformant to the Mac HIG specification" things. Considering this interview (http://news.netcraft.com/archives/2004/04/28/interview_with_miguel_de_icaza_cofounder_of_gnome_ximian_and_mono.html) and this article

[fdo] Linux Desktop Testing Project - Hosting request
Hi, LDTP (Linux Desktop Testing Project) hosted in http://gnomebangalore.org/ldtp About LDTP: *Problem:* In windows domain there are many GUI automation tools, which can recognize the GUI as "objects" and not just with co-ordinates. Unfortunately, Open Source Linux GUI automation tools are not matured up to that level - at least to my knowledge ;) . Without this advancement in the

color management spec
As part of my GSoC project I have to work out a spec that covers how applications should communicate color management related properties between each other and the compositing manager. The main idea of the project is to let the compositing manager do the color management on behalf of the applications. But before that can happen, the applications have to tell the compositing manager how they want

[R-pkg] New packages pmg, gWidgets, gWidgetsRGtk2
I'd like to announce three new packages on CRAN: pmg, gWidgets, and gWidgetsRGtk2. --John Verzani 1 PMG *=*=*= The pmg package for R provides a relatively simple graphical user interface for R in a manner similar to the more mature RCmdr package. Basically this means a menu-driven interface to dialogs that collect arguments for R functions. This GUI was written with an eye towards

[fdo] Accessibility list at Freedesktop.org
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi! I have been in discussion with several other accessibility projects to work on a common API for speech synthesis and speech recognition drivers. I suggested to discuss this on a mailing list and to found a new list at freedesktop.org for this purpose. Since there are also a number of other accessibility related areas where cooperation is

Toolkit Actions
David, I am interested in your recent commit regarding toolkit actions - http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=xorg/app/compiz.git;a=commitdiff;h=a4c3b371ada1f7ef80c7701783342714a108a8f2 Would you mind commenting on what the idea here is, and how this can be used by application authors / GTK hackers? Thanks John

How to use rtc_timeoffset (XL toolkit option) in Libvirt and Xen/libxl hypervisor?
Hello techs, We used XL toolkit for Xen hypervisor for starting Windows hvm VMs and the option rtc_timeoffset worked perfectly with XL. It helped us to set correct Timezone time/offset for Windows HVM VMs from inside virtual_machine xen config. For example: Below option WORKS perfectly with XL toolkit. [root@hw12xen ~]# cat goillltawdlssq.xl.cfg | grep offset rtc_timeoffset = "7200"

[fdo] Custom printer list for all applicatons
Hi, I would like to discuss issues with printer list displayed to users within open source desktop. In large environment, the cups printer list may get very long, and we need a way to display only relevant printers to the user. There are so much printing panel out there, and they are not using a printing framework other than libcups. So, I changed the libcups library to return only printers

wxruby, XRC, DialogBlock
I''ve been trying to figure out the best method for generating GUI''s with Ruby. I ended up using DialogBlock because it seems like the fastest way. But not I have to work backwards and have not done this before. How do I go from the file I generate in DialogBlock to a code in Ruby? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Prototype.js with jsDoc-toolkit?
Is anyone else using jsdoc-toolkit with Prototype.js? It works great on plain ''ol JavaScript, but seems to have some problems using Prototype 1.6-style classes and inheritance. For example, if I do something like: <code> /** * @class Foo * @extends Bar */ Foo = Class.create(Bar, { /** * @constructor */ initialize : function() { /** * An important number

Hi Now we''ve got the download problems nailed, shall we do an announcement on comp.lang.ruby? I can do it if you''re really busy, but Kevin I think you have first refusal as you''re owed the biggest chunk of kudos for getting us this far. re patch backlog: no worries - just clearing the decks before having another go at integrating wxScintilla - but I can''t
