RODC between samba v4 servers
I'm preparing a lab to test the scenario in which a remote office uses a RODC to cache all users/computers/GPOs from a DC. I've set up a environment with all requirements (two subnets, one with a DC and the other with a RODC). I've joined the domain with a windows machine to the RODC subnet with both DCs being up. Using the windows tools (DSA), I've placed a user account and the

Installing IMA (Integrity Measurement Architecture) on CentOS 5.5
I'm trying to install IMA (http://linux-ima.sourceforge.net/) on CentOS 5.5, but the shipped kernel does not support it. One solution is to install a 2.6.30 kernel, but I don't really like this idea. Does anybody has tried to install it? Regards, Andreas

Samba4 migration
I have a question ... How can I migrate existing LDAP users ( or schemas) on Ubuntu 10.04.2 to the new Samba4 (Ubuntu 12.04.2) server? Does anyone have an idea? SIP kpml DTMF support in *
Hi, I'm trying to connect Asterisk 1.4 and Cisco CallManager 5 using SIP Trunk without MTP (media termination point). Howerver, Cisco 79xx phones do not support RFC2833, they always notify CCM5 via SKINNY channel no matter where they send RTP to. For non-MTP trunk there's Out-of-band DTMF support in CCM5 called "kpml". I wonder if Asterisk can support it. I found an

a question about swap space, memory and read.table()
Hi all Two computers: one is my desktop PC, windows2000, R 1.9.1. Physical RAM 256MB, Swap (Virtual memory) 384Mb. When I allocate a large matrix, it firstly uses up RAM, then use swap space. In windows' task manager, the usage of memory could exceed my physic RAM's size. The other machine is a remote server. Windows XP, R 1.9.1 Physical RAM 2GB. Swap space 4GB. I use "R

Macs and R
I hope this is the right place for my question, my apologise if it is not. I am a long time Mac/UNIX user and my local machine is a Mac. At present I run an orphan version of R which a worried out of (*****). On reflection I guess I'd better not say, but it changed my life. It is howerver a little out of date ( say 0.6ish) So the obvious question, do I move to MacLinux or is there likely

Samba 2.0 User Authentication
Hi folks, we're running Samba 2.0 on a SuSE 5.3 based System and I have two questions about an authentication issue: 1: I cannot connect to SWAT as user root because of authentication failure ("invalid password"). We're using shadow password and I compiled the Samba-suite with "-Wshadow". 2. We've a share to which every user connects as himself. File permissions

auto-accept keys matching DNSSEC-validated SSHFP records
Hi, I submitted a patch back in November of 2009 to add local validation of DNSSEC record to openssh. I recent updated the patch for 5.8, and figured I do a little marketing while I'm at it. :-) Someone had previously submitted a patch which simply trusted the AD bit in the response, which is susceptible to spoofing by anyone who can inject packets between the resolver and the client. Override quota rules based on mail's content
Hi, I've a mail server with Postfix and Dovecot, using a LDAP backend to get the users. I've also configure quota rules, and I'm able to get the quota from LDAP. But I need the mails that come from the local domain to bypass the quota rule and be delivered to the users' inbox. Is there any way to do that? Information required by Dovecot's mailing list rules: +++ dovecot.conf

st devices not showing up in xvm
I have a Sony lib-162 tape library hooked up to an adaptec 39160 scsi controller. I''m running OpenSolaris / Indiana snv_98 with the CADP160 driver installed from a SXCE dvd (snv_99). When I boot without xvm, I can run "mt config" and see the configuration information for the first drive in the library. Under xvm, some scsi operations still work - I can access the changer, move

vorbis_comment_add_tag() and Codewarrior OS X
Hi, after banging my head against the wall for quite a while I finally found what crashes my code: Because I'm working with Codewarrior 8 on OS X I had to compile the ogg / vorbis libs with CW. To do so I used the CW projects for OS 9 and modified them. Howerver, they don't work as expected. Everything seems to be fine, encoding & decoding works, only vorbis_comment_add_tag() crashes

[LLVMdev] Infinite loop when adding a new analysis pass
I am trying to add an analysis pass as a FunctionPass, and let LICM (LoopPass) depends upon it. So in LICM.cpp, I have the following: virtual void getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &AU) const { AU.setPreservesCFG(); AU.addRequired<DominatorTree>(); AU.addRequired<LoopInfo>(); AU.addRequiredID(LoopSimplifyID); AU.addRequired<AliasAnalysis>();

Fail to login from trusted AD: NT_STATUS_TRUSTED_DOMAIN_FAILURE
Hello I have two MS AD 2008 let's say AD1 and AD2. They have bi-direction trusted relationship. I have two linux servers joined into AD2, let's say LNX1 and LNX2. On LNX1, it can authenticate any users both from AD1 or AD2. Howerver, on LNX2, it can only authenticate users in AD2 but failed against AD1. It reports NT_STATUS_TRUSTED_DOMAIN_FAILURE (0xc000018c). HTB: 3. Sharing hierarchy
On http://luxik.cdi.cz/~devik/qos/htb/manual/userg.htm... There is a nice explanation on how/why to setup a hierarchy with HTB. Howerver what is missing is how to setup finters for this case? I had this working when I was using a seperat qdisc for each ?layer?, making each HTB only one level deep. Described in the attached qdisc.sh.GOOD. Described in the attached qdisc.sh is my current script,

Shares not accessible when using FQDN
Hi, "CLUSTER" is because this server is related to a computing cluster, and is the master node of that cluster ;) No relation with Samba infrastructure, this is just a DNS/Netbios alias. To be honnest the reason why this server is also a DC is to solve a big issue appeared when migrating from 3 to 4. We had no other choice because of a couple of reasons, however it is planed to
