Calling dovecot-lda correctly from exim for virtual user setup
Hi, I'm running Dovecot 2.1.7 on Debian. Exim is the MTA. I was recently made aware of the fact that the way in which Exim invokes dovecot-lda is prone to code injection: dovecot_virtual_delivery: driver = pipe command = HOME=/home/vmail/\$local_part /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot-lda -f \$sender_address use_shell .. I.e. a command is executed via the shell, and Exim uses

Asterisk configuration from database with res_config
I want to let Asterisk read its configuration from a mysql database. I configured everything according to the wiki page: http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+res_config. However it doesn't work. I am using 1.0.8 asterisk version and here are my config files: Extconfig.conf: [settings] ;uncomment to load queues.conf via the db engine. ;queues.conf =>

Test report xen_4.11.1~pre.20180911.5acdd26fdc+dfsg-2
I'm just dumping all I got in here, after initial feedback we can see how to organize todo's around it. tl;dr: * Does not upgrade cleanly from 4.8 packages, so we have to prevent this from entering testing until we fix that. * Live migration is broken, explodes with memory allocation errors. ---- >8 ---- 1. Build packages * I have built salsa/master using pbuilder targeting sid.

Getters and setters problem?
Hi list, first evening of playing with rails, so please forgive me if I ask something stupid. ;-) I created a User model and tried to use ActiveRecord callbacks to convert the password to sha1 just before saving it. For some reason postgresql gives me a error because the given password is null. To test even further I tried to change :login too, same error happens, :login is empty too. I am sure

Strange Fromuser behavior?
Strange things are happening at my asterisk box :) I've got asterisk setup to dail out with sip to my SIP provider. I've got NO fromuser/fromdomain stuff setup in my sip.conf When I place a call with my Siemens Optipoint 400 SIP phone everything is allright, the From: header is stating the username of the Siemens phone. When I place a call with X-Lite the From: header is altered and reads

Sendmail + Deliver as an LDA probs
Hi, I'm having trouble setting up sendmail to be able to use dovecot deliver as an LDA... I don't want to be able to deliver mail locally, everything should go via deliver (virtual user setup)... And i'm confused about all the procmail/lda entry's in different sendmail config files... When using $# deliver -u testuser < testmail <-- he delivers my mail in the correct

Entirely new Xen packaging
I have now finished totally rewriting the Xen package in Debian, from scratch. Amazingly as soon as I got a package which was lintian-clean and would install, it worked first time ! I have generated 18 patches to go upstream which I have sent to xen-devel. There are two more, xenstore ABI patches, which need a bit of tidying up. There is still room for improvement but it is now clearly ready

Monitor application and e-mailing attachment
Hi all, I'm trying to make a context that will monitor a call and when it's completed it would e-mail the wav to a specified mail adres. So I made a standard context that records a call, like this: exten => _*31*00[1-9].,1,Setvar(CALLFILENAME=CALL-${EXTEN:4}-$ {TIMESTAMP}) exten => _*31*00[1-9].,2,Monitor(wav,${CALLFILENAME},m}) exten =>

procmail --> deliver question
Hi there, I use dovecot-1.1-rc4, got imap, imaps, pop3 & pop3s working fine with the mbox format. I use sendmail-8.14.2 as an MTA, sendmail uses procmail as an LDA. I migrated to maildir format now, and pipe all my mail to deliver right now to be able to make use of the indexing etc... Problem is I run into some errors : #My .procmailrc PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin

dhcp-parameter-request-list and append in ISC DHCP 3.x
I was just trying to setup pxelinux with the ISC DHCP server v 3.0.1pl9 using the instructions on the web site to get pxelinux to use a config file linked to a MAC address rather than an IP address and appear to have run into the same problem that Gal Goldschmidt posted about in this list back in July of 2002. It seems that the append statement is only applicable to the dhclient.conf file, not

Passing option-209 to PXE client w/ ISC DHCPD V2
Does anyone remember if there is a way to coerce the ISC DHCPD version 2 (2.0pl5) to send options to a PXE client that does not explicitly request them. I can do this in version 3 of DHCPD via the vendor-option-space mechanism, but this is not available in version 2 of the server (the version my network switch uses). I want to be able to specify the PXE filename via option 209 (plus option 208

ISC DHCPD Problem and Solution.
Hi, I already solved this problem, I offer this a part of the FAQ or as a starting point for an FAQ addition I was using the RH pxe support, but I got tired of pressing F8. I wanted to make a few machines to auto boot without any intervetion, well that's what dhcp/bootp/pxe is all about right? I followed the HOWTO on the pxelinux site. I desperately upgraded to the latest ISC 3.1p9. The

This was sent to the list as HTML (PLEASE, everyone, NO HTML!) This seems like an elegant replacement since "append" is not supported anymore, it seems... ISC dhcpd and Vista clients
Has anyone had good luck serving dhcp addresses to Vista clients that work reliably? I have a test system and I can't seem to find out how to properly get dhcpd to always respond with broadcast instead of unicast since Vista won't honor unicast dhcp packets. -- MailScanner is like deodorant...
