Question about cut()
Dear all,
I would like to use cut() to make numerics to factors, the sample codes are as follows. However, the result is not what I want, since r[3] =?9 should be in the interval of "8-10%" rather than "2-4%". Maybe cut() is not the right function to use for my situation. Please help. > r <- c(1,1,9,1,1,1)

ESRI Shapefile for EU-25
Hi all,
who knows how to get an ESRI Shapefile for the NUTS-2 Regions of the
enlarged European Union? Particularly I want to draw maps of Germany,
Poland, Czech Republik, Hungary and Austria. I've found Shapefiles for the
US, Russia and other countries elsewhere in the web, but for Europe it
seems really difficult.
With many thanks for any hint

FW: Drawing maps of UK
Hi Guys
Thanks for this! As I am a beginner, I bet I'm running into some really
basic problems. Using the example from the Map2poly function in
maptools:
try <- read.shape("euadmll.shp")
mappolys <- Map2poly(try)
# this produces 14 warnings() of the type:
# 1: level 2 circularity at 62 in: .mtlbuild(.mtafters(r1), rD) # etc #
14: From next release, default hole handling

Problem with predict() and factors
I am working on a script that takes numeric performance indicators and runs
them against a series of regressors (dummy regressors, yes\no stuff via 0
and 1, e.g. Was is Christmas this week 0=no, 1=yes).
The script is as follows (Written as a function):

Graphics: Improving a Lattice plot - can it be done ?
Hallo all
I realise this might be a "too much to ask" question, but can I improve the Lattice plot produced by the following code? The type of figure I would like to produce in each segment of the plot appears below the code.
library(reserving) # http://toolkit.pbwiki.com/RToolkit <http://toolkit.pbwiki.com/RToolkit>
data(GenIns)
GenInsInc <- incrementalTriangle(GenIns)

Repost:lattice graphics -- legend color problems
Hello R-folks,
I don't get the color of the legend in a lattice-plot right.

The resulting graph shows the new palette in the graph, but uses the standard palette in the legend rectangles.

legend color problems
Hello R-folks,

The resulting graph shows the new palette in the graph, but in the legend rectangles the standard palette is used. Adding a col argument into auto.key uses the new palette
with the legend text, but not in the rectangle fill.
What am I missing?

create custom function to annotate a levelplot
Dear list users,
I modeled the probability of occurrence of one species: "Cyperus
dilatatus".
I modeled the species using three different approaches:
c("random","target","index")
What I want to achieve is to make a plot of all prediction maps in a row
with to conditional variables, that is, with the species and the
approach
I prepared a data.frame to try

Using R map data to determine associated state for a coordinate?
Hi!
I have no idea if this is maybe an easy task utilizing
R since I read there is
geographical map data in some package:
I have a huge number of geographical points with their
coordinates in Germany.
Now I want to determine for each point in which
"Bundesland" = state it is located.
Can anybody tell me if this is doable relatively easy
in R and if so give me
some hints or links
