How to log querystring values?
Philipp,
Thanks so much for your time and relpy.
This dawn, before read your email, I worked to implement the URL authentication and it worked like a charm. I am still using querystring instead of custom header field because I have no control over the player. But, the excelent news is, no more rproxy! =)
And you were right, this way I have more possibilities than before!

How to log querystring values?
Dear Philipp,
Thanks for you reply.
My goal is to show in our analytics page segmented data (official apps,
partner apps, third-party apps, demographic and geo). To do so each app
pass some values in the query string (ie: app id, user id, lat, lng). And I
need to know those values in order to do that.
Today we are using nginx as a reverse proxy to Icecast to get those data
but it

How to log querystring values?
Hello,
I need to get some values passed in the querystring request in the log
file.
Something like that bellow:
ie: "GET /radio?id=1 HTTP/1.1" instead of only "GET /radio HTTP/1.1"
Do I need to change something in the source and compile? Or there is
another way?
Best,
Thiago

HowTo autogenerate a cahced page that was deleted
Hi
I am using "caches_page :index" to cache a page.
I delete this file via a cron tab command every 1 hour.
However, right after the file is deleted the very next user experiences
a huge delay because the page is being generated.
Is there anyway to autogenerate the file before the very next user
requests the page? A unix or ruby solution would do.
thanks,

experimental rails story adapter in trunk
For those of you interested in getting a jump on learning about and
using the new Story Runner in a Rails app, I''ve added an experimental
Rails-Story adapter to trunk.
You can see how to use it here:
http://pastie.caboo.se/92320
This is PURELY EXPERIMENTAL, however it actually works and will likely
not change much in the way that it does work.
Happy hacking!

Problem with ActionMailer in controller specs - works in model specs
I am having a problem with my controller tests that include
ActionMailer. The tests work for the model test, e.g. I have a
UserNotifier model that sends account activation e-mails and the
spec''s work fine. When I run the UsersController spec''s that test
some of the same functionality (e.g. uses the UserNotifier model), I
get:

ActiveRecord save-update not performed ?
I try to understand the following issue :
- when creating a new User record, I use an UserObserver to trap the
before_save call back and send an email
def after_create(user)
UserNotifier.deliver_signup_notification(user)
end
- Once created a user can ask for a password reset, which is also
trapped by the UserOberver
def after_save(user)
UserNotifier.deliver_reset_password(user) if

Oggenc - strange display output
Hi all:
OK, I was curious to see if I could hear any of the quality loss when going
from MP3 to vorbis (a friend wants to know). I used the following command:
mpg123 -s 07-Dont_Let_It_Bring_You_Down.mp3 |oggenc -o down.ogg -m2 -r -
The encode worked just fine, but at the end oggenc printed up the
following:
Done encoding file "down.ogg"
File length: 0m 00.0s

Auto detect URL for ActionMailer?
Hi,
how can I call the url in an actionMailer definition - so that it
automatically detects what the rails application server is and puts it
in the url that is mailed to the client? (I don''t want to have to change
it every time the hostname is changed - I''d like the application to auto
detect what the host is - whether it''s localhost:3000 or my own
website...

[PATCH 3/3] daemon: autogenerate most of OCaml interfaces
Add a way to generate OCaml interfaces for a whilelist of modules in
the daemon that implement APIs: this makes sure that for them the
interface of each function matches the actual API specified in the
generator.
Only the modules specified in a list are generated for now, although
this coverts almost all the daemon APIs implemented in OCaml.

Winbind syslog errors and Domain Local Groups
Hello all.
I'm relatively new to Samba, and haven't been able to track down a
solution to this particular problem.
I use Samba/Winbind to authenticate FreeBSD machines against a
Windows 2003 Active Directory. That all works fine. The problem is
that groups in the AD of type "Security Group - Domain Local" are
causing winbindd a lot of grief. Every time the winbindd daemon is

ActionMailer and url_for in helper methods
Hi,
I was wondering how to get url_for to work inside ActionMailer. I did
research on the web but I can''t seem to find something that fits what I
need.
In my application, each user can specify their custom domain to access
their. I have an ActionMailer that sends them notifications of changes
that occur. In there, I have a breadcrumbs helper method, which

Will Wine Auto-Launch Windows Programs
I have a Dell Latitude and I am a die-hard Linux user, but I noticed that I also have that Computrace lojack system on my pc in the BIOS.
Computrace's program is intertwined into the PC's BIOS and the theory is that even if a thief wipes the PC and do a clean install, Computrace will rebuild itself and continue to 'call home' until it's found.
As of this date, Computrace

I keep getting this exception "SQLite3::SQLException: no such

table. So i just installed foreigner plugin and added "
