link Explorer Shell extensions to Gnome thumbnailer
Programs with special uncommon file formats (not jpg) often register a shell extension in Explorer that offers thumbnails for these files (since the files otherwise wouldn't have previews).
When I trigger in a Wine application (eg. SketchUp) the File Open dialog, I can see previews of the files (skp files) in the preview panel. This means the shell extension does work in Wine. The Shell

[PATCH] line endings fix
The replay gain code has dos line endings in CVS, which causes problems
for the Sun compiler, among others. Attached is a patch for the lazy,
but it's probably easier to fix locally and commit.

predict.lm - standard error of predicted means?
Simple question.
For a simple linear regression, I obtained the "standard error of
predicted means", for both a confidence and prediction interval:
x<-1:15
y<-x + rnorm(n=15)
model<-lm(y~x)
predict.lm(model,newdata=data.frame(x=c(10,20)),se.fit=T,interval="confidence")$se.fit

derivatives in R
Hi, I posted this message earlier in "Rmetrics" and I don't know whether I
posted in the wrong place, so I'm posting it again in Rhelp.
I have a function in x and y and let's call it f(x,y). I need to get the
Hessian matrix. i.e I need (d^2f/dx^2), (d^2f/dxdy), (d^2f/dydx),
(d^2f/dy^2).I can get these using the D function. now I need to evaluste the
hessian matrix for

Newbie - Encoding PCM
Hi all,
i've to encode voice from a voicemodem. I choose speex 1.0.5 for its quality
in voice encoding. I've tried to implement an encoder but unsuccesfully.
Here's my code:
/* ============ SPEEX stream ENCODER

int SPEEX_EncodePCM(struct _IDA_ClientSocket *IDA,char *buffer,unsigned char

ayuda frecuencia asistencia clase
Estimados usurios-R:

Thumbnailer for Windows apps?
This only just occured to me, but I think it might be a good idea...
There are thumbnailer applications out there for the strangest formats now (like NDS files) next to most file browsers auto-generating thumbnails for images and keeping it in ~/.thumbnails. I was wondering how feasible it is to have Windows app's icons extracted and used as a thumbnail for these apps though. Makes apps easy

Lists and Binary Operators.
Dear R Users,
Any insights into why the following occurs would be helpful....
Firstly:

improving/speeding up a very large, slow simulation
Dear R help;
I'll preface this by saying that the example I've provided below is pretty
long, turgid, and otherwise a deep dive into a series of functions I wrote
for a simulation study. It is, however, reproducible and self-contained.
I'm trying to do my first simulation study that's quite big, and so I'll
say that the output of this simulation as I'd like it to be is

Lasso Regression error
Hi all,
I have a data set containing variables LOSS, GDP, HPI and UE.
(I have attached it in case it is required).
Having renamed the variables as l,g,h and u, I wish to run a Lasso
Regression with l as the dependent variable and all the other 3 as the
independent variables.
data=read.table("data.txt", header=T)
l=data$LOSS
h=data$HPI
u=data$UE
g=data$GDP
matrix=data.frame(l,g,h,u)

Would it be worth doing a similar thing with the unlocked samplers below the
nr mark ? It seems to me that we might be leaking nv50->samplers[s][i], or
perhaps I'm missing something ?

[PATCH 1/2] nvc0/ir: avoid infinite recursion when finding first uses of tex
In certain circumstances, findFirstUses could end up doubling back on
instructions it had already processed, resulting in an infinite
recursion. Avoid this by keeping track of already-visited instructions.

Sequences
Hi,
I am trying to make a sequence and am using a for loop for this. I want to
start off with an initial value ie S[0]=0 then use the loop to create other
values. This is what I have so far but I just keep getting error messages.
#To calculate the culmulative sums:
s<-rep(0,207) #as this is the length of the
vector I know I will have
s<-as.vector(s)

Differentiating Video from Audio
I am trying to write a "thumbnailer" for the thunar file manager that
can process .ogg files containing a video stream and produce a thumbnail
of a particular frame. The only trouble is telling which files have a
video stream in an efficient method. The best I've come up with is
running ogginfo on every file with the mimetype application/ogg.
Is there a better method?
