Calculating AIC for the whole model in VAR
Hello! I am using package "VAR". I've fitted my model: mymodel<-VAR(mydata,myp,type="const") I can extract the Log Liklihood for THE WHOLE MODEL: logLik(mymodel) How could I calculate (other than manually) the corresponding Akaike Information Criterion (AIC)? I tried AIC - but it does not take mymodel: AIC(mymodel) # numeric(0) Thank you! -- Dimitri Liakhovitski

rJava software
Hey everyone, I just saw a demonstration of a model that is built entirely in R that allows for transportation greenhouse gas related scenario testing and it used an awesome GUI utilizing iplots, rJava and gWidgets libraries. Very cool stuff. I am a somewhat seasoned R user but cannot seem to figure out what rJava needs to run correctly. I have installed Java but when i load the rJava

differents behaviour of packages depending on rJava under 32 and 64 bit versions of R 2.14.2
Hi listeRs, Maybe I have missed something, but I am facing a problem I don't understand even after reading archives and manuals (…maybe not carefully enough !) : On my PC (64-bit OS, Intel Xeon CPU , two L5506@2.13 GHz processors, 12 Go RAM) under Windows 7 SP1, I run both 32-bit (i386-pc-mingw32/i386) and 64-bit (x86_64-pc-mingw32/x64) version 2.14.2 (2012-02-29) of R, packages

Package installation errors
Dear Rxperts.. I am trying to install a few packages in R (version 2.14.2) on a *64-bit Window 7* workstation. Some of the errors are posted below.. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of R were installed. I did not get errors while installing packages through *32-bit R*, except that it could not update some of the packages (already installed with 64-bit R) *A*) When I start *64-bit R (2.14.2)*

You need to make sure that the rJava package is working. Consider using the readxl package instead of xlsx. Best regards, ir. glmulti fails because of rJava
Dear R, The glmulti package no longer loads through the library() command, apparently because of a problem with rJava. I have today reinstalled R from scratch (updated to v2.14.0) and reinstalled all packages from scratch and updated them all too. The problem is the same as I found on v2.13.2. See session below for the error. I tried install.packages(rJava) as advised by the error report but it

na.rm = T treatment by ggplot2's geom_bar
I think you should be more suspicious of yourself, Dimitri. A letter T variable can easily arise in the problem domain when you are not thinking of logical values at all, at which point your cavalier use of T as a synonym for TRUE can suddenly become a bug. -- Sent from my phone. Question about multiple regression
Dear R-list, maybe some of you could point me in the right direction: Are you aware of any FREE Fortran or Java libraries/actual pieces of code that are VERY efficient (time-wise) in running the regular linear least-squares multiple regression? More specifically, I have to run small regression models (between 1 and 15 predictors) on samples of up to N=700 but thousands and thousands of them. I
