Dovecot and time (again)
I'm rehashing/reliving my issues from 2010: http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2010-October/053528.html In short, when calling deliver from vdelivermail (or procmail), and delivering via NFS to Maildir, the timestamp on the file is GMT.? If procmail or vdelivermail completely handle the email, the timestamp is CST. The server is set to CST. What's changed from the original issue??

rc2x seems to break Pegasus Mail
Hi guys, I upgraded from rc7 to rc24 a couple weeks ago, and noticed today that Pegasus Mail's IMAP no longer connects. So I put rc27 in, and it worked, but only for a little while... I'm not sure what the problem might be, the logs look fine, and I can still use Horde and Evolution without a problem. Pegasus Mail's error is unfortunately not helpful. Restarting rc27 didn't

backing up IMAP server on a hard drive
Dear Rick, Thanks. I guess I'll have to install dovecot. I am not sure what the parameter for the -host2 should be(apart from localhost? ) Its my first time doing dovecot on a Linux desktop. I was thinking of using Thunderbird to download all mails but I guess that will be too long of a process. On Friday, August 7, 2015, Rick Romero <rick at havokmon.com> wrote: > Hi Kevin, >

This is different thing. This is about managing duplicates on multiple syncs. Imapsync seems to keep track of UID -> MAIL mapping for server A and UID -> MAIL

backing up IMAP server on a hard drive
Dear Rick, Thanks for your feedback. I think rsync might be a better option. Its(imap server)with gmail so I dont think it would work . Furthermore I am running a linux system(Ubuntu 14.04 to be precise). Does Mercury 32 support it? >From the site it seems not. Please advise. There's a username_filter, but I want to use a master password for webmail (which will use 2FA via Radius), and those IPs are known and non-routable. passdb { driver =

Hi Kevin, Ahh. When you said desktop, I assumed you meant Windows.? Dovecot is an IMAP Server, so I assume that was the server you wanted to backup. If you're running Linux, then you could run Dovecot on it and use IMAPSync to sync your Gmail locally. Call queues on load-balanced asterisks
Hi Pan & Dhaval, In the past 8 weeks, we have delivered a load-balanced asterisks (1.4) based call center with our flexqueue application for icson.com. It has the below features, 1. 2 x asterisk 1.4 boxes, 1 x mysql db box and 1 x flexqueue box(the two are failover configured with heartbeat and custom script, and mysql master-slave replication between two svr), 2 x kamailio boxes(failover

How to "Windows Authenticate"
Rick, I extremely dislike Exchange as well. I have a long list of problems: near impossibility to monitor logs for trouble, poor configurable spam checking, no good way to archive and review emails ... I could go on for paragraphs, but the main reason we recently migrated away from SBS/Exchange is that Microsoft no longer sells Small Business Server and its replacement, Server Essentials, does

How to "Windows Authenticate"
More experimentation ... I tried removing userdb and passdb from the dovecot NTLM config. That didn't work. I then tried adding a static userdb as follows: userdb { driver = static # allow_all_users = yes args = gid=100 home=/home/HPRS/%n } (Interestingly, when I uncommented "allow_all_users" I got an "unsupported setting" [or something like that], even though that

How to "Windows Authenticate"
As to your suggested links, Samba4 uses Heimdal Kerberos which is part of the Samba4 installation: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO#Installation, so I don't know if the krb5 configs discussed in your link will apply. I'll revisit this if other things I'm trying don't work out. If that http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/ActiveDirectoryNtlm link were on paper I've

How to "Windows Authenticate"
Rick et al, The link you gave was a start, but is targeted for Samba3 and is assuming a probably Windows [SBS]Server AD/DC separate from the DC hosting dovecot, and includes setting up kerberos. I'm using a Samba4 AD/DC with integrated kerberos (so I don't think there is any setup I can do there). Nevertheless I've followed the instructions otherwise; specifically adding to
