[PATCH 0/7] PowerPC64 performance improvements
Hi Brian, > Thank you for this collection of patches. > > How can I test them? What platforms (computers) have the ppc64 or > POWER9 processor? The IBM Bounty Source page has a list of resources: https://www.bountysource.com/teams/ibm/bounties Travis also has ppc64le support, so if you add the linux-ppc64le target then FLAC will be tested on ppc64le. Thanks, Anton

[LLVMdev] How to Cross Compile libcompiler_rt Static Library?
Hi, I've cross-compiled musl-libc to arm binaries with clang. It needs functions from static runtime library "libcompiler_rt.a". I tried to build compile_rt outside the llvm source tree. Using command like "make clang_linux", I can easily build "libcompiler_rt.a" for my host machine, which is X86_64. But how can I *cross-compile* the compiler_rt runtime

Bountysource campaign for the M68000 backend
Hello! Almost two years ago, Artyom Goncharov submitted an initial effort for a backend for the Motorola 68000 architecture [1] which was eventually not merged, unfortunately. I elaborated why I supported the idea of such a backend [2]. Recently, we started a fundraising campaign on the platform Bountysource.com to port the M68K backend in GCC to the new MODE_CC register representation which was

Ogg Vorbis bitrate peeling bounty on Launchpad
Hello all, Just a quick note to let you all know that I have placed a bounty on Lauchpad to get bitrate peeling added to Vorbis. It is a feature that I think we would all like to have, and would probably pay something to get, but it hasn't been done. My request to you is to add to the bounty. I have seeded it with US$20, which is not enough to motivate a developer to get it done, but I am a

$250 Asterisk app install bounty
Hi all, We're trying to make voice and SMS apps easier and more common. We solved one part of the problem with pay-as-you-go cloud-scale Asterisk hosting, and now we're trying to make the app setup easier. With a few exceptions, setup docs are too rare, and they depend on knowing too much about Asterisk. That complexity deters businesses from integrating phone calls into their

Slightly OT: trying to mangle packets from Asterisk for a multiple ISP setup (reward)
Hi, Reward offered: 50$ (paypal), and I am sure this is a ridiculous thing I have missing. My goal: On a 2 NIC Asterisk box, to send packets that came in Asterisk on NIC1 back to NIC 1, and NIC2 back to NIC 2. (basically, send them back the same way they came from). I have been doing what was recommended to me and mangling packets left and right. I have reached a point where I am

request for clarification on Asterisk T.38 bounty
The bounty stands at $5,500. I'm seriously considering taking a shot at it if I can find a decent T.38 provider to test with (I'm still hoping for reliable PAYG T.38). It looks like a lot of very smart people have done a lot of very hard work (t38modem, spandsp) that would go towards getting this working. At this point it appears to be mostly a matter of integration

I offer a reward of USD$50 + VGA card Giveaway to anyone who can solve my Xen VGA Passthrough Problem
_History_ I have 100% success in Xen VGA Passthrough with Xen 3.5-unstable with my first Palit NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS VGA card in 2009, which is 3 years ago. Then my first Palit NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS VGA card overheated and malfunctioned. So I bought a 2nd Palit NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS VGA card several months ago in March 2012 for S$44, to replace the first card. At that point in time, Xen

Benefit to changing "interface" param?
Given that I only have 10 client machines which could access Samba (v1.9.18p3), does it make any sense increase the "interface" mask to reduce the number of addresses broadcasted to? That is, would a parameter of interface = 192.168.0.1/28 be less of a burden on Samba that the standard 8-bit interface = 192.168.0.1/24 range of broadcast addresses? Thank you. *****

Any benefit with running async_storeconfigs
Hi all, I currently am using puppet with storeconfigs and am quite happy with the results. I also see that there is now the option of having async_storeconfigs. What I''m wondering about is the following: 1. What benefit is there to running async_storeconfigs over storeconfigs? 2. In what scenario''s would async provide a benefit to standard storeconfigs? 3. What are the typical

How can replicated and distributed replicated volume benefit read performance in most environments?
Hi, I'm trying to get in over my head with the different glusterFs volume types and their affect on performance. But few things In not clear By analyzing tcpdump, I can see that the reads happen from only one host/brick out of the replicated set. Then what makes replicated type gives better read performance than any other volume type except striped types. Regards, Jeevan. --------------

RE: Building from scratch would like the benefit of (TOO LONG...)
I use Cisco 7940's and 7960's over here, loaded with SIP, and they do very nicely. Also, the SCCP channel for * is under heavy development, and may offer a future option to convert in that direction, too (SCCP, or skinny, is their native tongue, not SIP). We got our phones from John Putnam at Global Technology Solutions - competitive price, very prompt service, and delivered them with the

Would a hardware TRNG benefit VMs?
Hi all, I've been curious about using hardware true random number generators in my VM clusters. This got me wondering about the VM's /dev/random source... If I setup a hardware TRNG on the host, would the VM's also benefit from it? oplocks causing more trouble than benefit ?
Hi everybody, my setup is 1 fileserver running samba 3.0.22 on Gentoo Linux, and about 15 clients, some of which are XP and some W2K. On some PCs we have Outlook 2000, and we store each user's outlook.pst file in a private folder on the fileserver. One of the W2K clients had hardware problems that caused it to freeze once in a while. Everytime this happened, the user would restart
