I tried to make huge page request in Fedora x86_64 PV guest using xen 4.1
unstable and it crashed(crash info given below)
I had enabled superpages in config file
I had also set hugepages parameter at boot time for the PV Dom U
By excuting
# cat /proc/mem_info | grep Huge
gave me that there are 10 free huge pages available , still the domain

[RFC PATCH] Exporting ACPI Pxx/Cxx states to other kernel subsystems (v1).
Hello,
The following patches are a solution to a problem we have encountered
when using the Xen hypervisor:
- Need Pxx/Cxx states to save on power consumption when using Xen (we
do want those datacenters to consume less power!),
- Also need to figure out the Turbo mode so that the scheduler can properly
boost a core for CPU bound guests.
In essence the Xen hypervisor requires that

vcpu-pin cause dom0 kernel panic
I use xen 4.0(dom0 is suse11.sp1,2.6.32 x86_64) on
Dell R710 with PERC H700 RAID adapter.

When I dedicated (pin) a CPU core only for dom0 use.
(I specify "dom0_max_vcpus=1 dom0_vcpus_pin" options for Xen)
I got dom0 kernel panic error(pin-1-5.30.bmp)
When I pin 2 core to dom0, the dom0 system can boot up,

dmidecode doesn't work under xen 4.1.1 on certain hardware
I have a xen 4.1.1 with a 3.0.4 linux kernel running on a Supermicro
Supermicro X8DTL-iF motherboard with 16GB of RAM.
If I run the 3.0.4 kernel on the bare metal dmidecode works fine. If I
run it under xen dmidecode fails to work. On other systems with
different hardware but identical software dmidecode works correctly
under xen. On this hardware with xen 3.4.1 & linux 2.6.18, dmidecode

PCI passthrough stopped working, brainache!
Recently had passthrough of 2xPCI DVB-T cards and 1xPCIe DVB-S2 card working,
the last know config that was *certainly* working was
dom0
xen-4.1.1-3.fc16.x86_64
kernel-3.1.0-0.rc7.git0.0.fc16.x86_64
domU
kernel-3.1.0-0.rc8.git0.0.fc16.x86_64
Since then I''ve updated
xen-4.1.1-6.fc16.x86_64 on dom0
kernel-3.1.0-0.rc9.git0.0.fc16.x86_64 on dom0 and domU
and updated all other packages

[Fedora-xen] Xen, Linux and EFI.
Hey,
There has been some discussion about EFI and SecureBoot and such.
Most of the time I get questions in the form of "How do I get Fedora 17
with Xen to do EFI", I am going to concentrate on Fedora, but I think
this applies to other distros too.
From my reading (I hadn't actually tried EFI yet), there are two ways
to bootup a system:
- Using grub2.efi. Grub2 does the EFI API
