Loss of Prompt & Cursor
When I log into a virtual console as ordinary user, I initially have a
prompt & cursor. After I
print 24 lines or more, the last visible (24th) line will be data
instead of the prompt & cursor. The up arrow no longer gives the
previous commands. A clear command will restore the prompt & cursor.
This bug first appeared after I installed CentOS5. I do not believe it

CentOS5: Can't Access the Web Using Firefox Web Browser
Many times (not always) when I click on a URL in an email, the cursor
(rotating arrow) lasts for 5-10 seconds, then nada. If I exit email to
the desktop, nether the tool-bar icon, nor the
Applications->Internet->Firefox Web Browser route will get me unto the
web although the cursor shows a rotating arrow for a few seconds. Some
other task may be executing as the hard disk is working

CentOS5:Printer Won't Work
I have a HP OfficeJet K80xi "all-in-one" USB printer. When I send a
file to the printer from a virtual console using the command : lp
"anyfilename", the response is "request ID is HPOJK80-7 (1 file(s)".
There is no printer action, no sound, nothing. The printers name is
HPOJK80; the -7 is the job number.
The command lpstat shows there are a total of 7 jobs in the

Re: Xorg cursor instead of wine's (or even changing wine's defau
I have been working on some cursor patches, and I think the last of my series implements cursor themes (ie. it uses the X arrow in place of the B/W one that Wine normally uses.) It searches for various custom wine_* cursors first, then checks for the standard system arrow, and lastly falls back to B/W cursors. If you can get the WoW arrow cursor, you could even theme Wine's arrow cursor to

Strange cursor and no difference between normal and bold
Hello,
I did an update to Debian 4.0 with Wine 0.9.25.
Now the cursor is changed to a hand in the application (Schedule+), and
I don't like that. What can I do to change the cursor in an arrow again?
Another point is a font. I don't see a difference between bold and
normal anymore. This is importanti in the application, because a bold
font means that there is an appointment on that

script/console cursor goes crazy sometimes on XP
I''m on WinXP SP2, Ruby 1.8.4, Rails 1.1.2.
Sometimes when I''m editing a line in script/console - that is, I''m using
the cursor keys or backspace key to edit the text on the current line -
the cursor suddenly flies off to the previous line out in space
somewhere, and typing anything after that just results in characters
being entered at weird places.

command history under cursor keys
g'day R friends,
I was hoping someone could provide me with advice as to my dysfunctional
'arrow' keys.
Instead of browsing thru my command history they just move my cursor. What
have I done wrong? My TERM seems ok for other unix apps.
I'm running under hpux 10.20 with R1.0.0
thanks,
John Strumila

[PATCH] HDT: Fix cursor on exit from Menu Mode
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com>
CMenu: Fix cursor on exit from showmenus()
Signed-off-by: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com>
This fixes the issue in hdt.c32 that Kent Robotti noticed where
exiting directly from Menu Mode caused the cursor to not be displayed.
This same issue also affects com32/cmenu/simple.c32 and probably
others using showmenus().

Autocompleter - up arrow moves cursor to start of input box
When using the autocompleter and scrolling through options, if you
press the up arrow key the input field cursor moves backward. Some of
my users have reported that they find this very distracting. Does
anyone know why this happens, or where in the code I could fix it?
Steps to recreate:
1. Go to http://demo.script.aculo.us/ajax/autocompleter
2. Type in a letter (or two or three)
3. Arrow down

XEN Paravirtualized CentOS5 beta on CentOS5 beta
Dear All,
I'm trying to install CentOS5 beta as paravirtualized guest on a CentOS5
Xen host using virt-manager.
Everything seems to go OK. I'm able to run virt-manager and fill-out all
the details. Because you can only do a http/ftp/nfs install when setting
up a paravirtualized guest using virt-manager, I made the whole contents
of the CentOS5 beta DVD available via ftp.

Issues with stat() call on CentOS5 vs CentOS4
Dear CentOS,
I have recently upgraded several servers from CentOS4 to CentOS5 and I am
noticing a strange change to the stat() call. I have written a very
small program to test and show the behavior. I am calling stat()
against a file which is exported from my NAS and mounted with 32k
read/write sizes.
[dougalb at centos4 tmp]$ cat my_stat.c
#include <unistd.h>
#include <stdio.h>

WoW hardware cursor hack, Eve virtual desktops & CSS voice.
Wine 1.2-rc2
Ubuntu 9.10
I'm following instructins on tweaking World of Warcraft and wondering if a hardware cursor hack referenced under 'Step 2: Configuring' at http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=17421 would have any adverse effects on other games?
Would I need to edit it to account for the fact I already have Wine 1.2-rc2 installed from the Wine

Missing libexif update for Centos5
Hi,
could it be that the libexif update to 0.6.13-4.0.2 for Centos5
somehow got forgotten? The updates for Centos4 were released nearly
two weeks ago. In the meantime also lots of other updates showed up
for both Centos4 and Centos5, but still no libexif update for Centos5.
Best regards,
Bernd.
