Riak on Camping
Good day, does anyone here have a clue on how to make use of the NoSQL
database "Riak" with Camping?
I am building my website and Riak seems like pretty much the ultimate
database!
This would probably ruin every little feature in ActiveRecord, I don''t
think I''d be able to do any has_many''s or belongs_to
but I''d LOVE to be proven wrong. As far as

Highload project on RoR
I need advice about What is the best practice to scale RoR project ?
My current stack is:
- Ruby 1.9.3

Python Xapian bindings in PyPi?
Is there a package for the Python Xapian bindings in PyPi (the Python package index)??I install nearly all of my Python packages using pip and virtualenv, but I've had to manually compile the Xapian bindings for Python for a couple of projects. I just did this again and was wondering if I'd simply missed the package before.
If there isn't a package in PyPi, would you be interested in

RFC: HTTP based storage API
Hi,
Nearly every popular programming language has an LMTP/POP/IMAP
implementation, most of them suck in many different ways.
I don't know any server or library which provides a well-established,
compatible protocol frontend with an open backend API, which could be
used to easily make a custom storage backend for the LMTP/POP/IMAP
frontend in any language, in any programming paradigm,

Regarding your distributed text mining with tm
Hello,
I had been using R for text mining already. I wanted to use R for large
scale text processing and for experiments with topic modeling. I started
reading tutorials and working on some of those. I will now put down my
understanding of each of the tools:
1) R text mining toolbox: Meant for local (client side) text processing and
it uses the XML library
2) Hive: Hadoop interative, provides the

Unable to execute Java MapReduce (Hadoop) code from R using rJava
Hi All,
I have written a Java MapReduce code that runs on Hadoop. My intention is
to create an R package which will call the Java code and execute the job.
Hence, I have written a similar R function. But when I call this function
from R terminal, the Hadoop job is not running. Its just printing few lines
of warning messages and does nothing further. Here is the execution
scenario:

really large file systems with centos
I've been asked for ideas on building a rather large archival storage
system for inhouse use, on the order of 100-400TB. Probably using CentOS
6. The existing system this would replace is using Solaris 10 and
ZFS, but I want to explore using Linux instead.
We have our own tomcat based archiving software that would run on this
storage server, along with NFS client and server. Its a
