Still virtio problems
Hello! ? As posted on May 27th this year, dovecot 2.1.7 does not allow for the mailstore to be located in a virtio partition. I still receive fstat()-errors on the lock files in this combination: ? May 27 12:54:51 host dovecot: imap(test at mydomain): Error: fstat(/var/vmail/mydomain/test/.quotausage.lock) failed: No such file or directory May 27 12:54:51 host dovecot: imap(test at mydomain):

Error: file_dotlock_create failed: Permission denied
Hi, I have a Fedora 14 x86_64 computer. I run dovecot 2.0.12 on it, only to keep a local imap copy of all my email, in maildir format. A couple days ago the hard disk broke, so I bought a new one, and reinstalled Fedora 14 x86_64 with all the updates. Then I copied all the maildirs from a backup to the new drive. But I can't access email now. No matter how I change sticky bits or ownership

UNIX perms appear ok (ACL/MAC wrong?)
Hi, I am struggling with Postfix/SASL/Dovecot-IMAP setup with ~/Maildir/ setup. Receiving the mail works fine, but viewing the mail(+listing) is failing. The setup I use is simple unix users from etc/passwd, (pam thru SASL) as I only host for a few people. The ~/Maildir folder has the ownership of the user, not mail or vmail, as I would have expected from the master.cf from Postfix, the

dovecot 2.2.13: LMTP delivery with multiple recipients incorrectly mixes users
Hi. I'm using exim that delivers email over LMTP to dovecot 2.2.13. I noticed that dovecot LMTP service is sometimes (reare but repeats) mixing users. Example below. There is one mail (msgid=<1ACE53B70631CA45B62348E4EE8757493731A59E at KRMXA41>) that is going to be delivered to multiple local recipients. Some recipients are delivered properly: Sep 1 05:40:33 host dovecot:

constant mailbox rebuilding with dovecot 1.0.10
I've recently upgraded to 1.0.10 in hopes that this problem would go away but no luck. I've got some users at my company with large inboxes on maildir (say 22,000 messages). Their mailboxes are hosted on nfs and dovecot is configured to do dotlocking. Still I see messages like this continually in the logs (sometimes every hour or so): server dovecot: IMAP(user): dotlock

1.1.7: quota problem, unable to delete mails when quota exceeded
Hi, When user exceeds it's quota then dovecot can't create it's files and it's showing zero mails :( This also means that user is unable to delete it's own mails. Sounds like kind-of bug, right? Dovecot 2.3 on CentOS 7.
Greetings! I'm having a bit of trouble trying out Dovecot 2.3 on CentOS 7. Dovecot 2.2.33 works fine on the same system (same config as well, minus the SSL changes) but after upgrading to 2.3 I'm getting the following errors: Feb? 1 21:30:18 localhost dovecot: imap(reio at bwo.mrstuudio.ee)<3566><FoOsnStkXt4KAAgC>: Debug: INBOX.Templates: Mailbox opened because: STATUS

EUID not changing when delivering to a mailbox
Hello, I've set up virtual mailboxes and I'm using one uid/gid pair (mail/mail) to deliver almost all messages. Some accounts I'd like to have accessible by local Linux accounts as well, so postfix is delivering them using separate uids (gid stays the same). But I run into a problem when dovecot auth correctly fetches uid/gid from MySQL database, but still uses general mail

lock file on embedded device
Hi. That's my first post. it's driving me crazy. I'm trying to get dovecot working with vpopmail on Openwrt, an embedded linux-like OS for some routers . So actually my aim looks like get dovecot working with little hardware resources (32 MB of Ram, 8 MB of disk mem.) I've cross compiled it well(it looks like). the login against vpopmail works. using mmap it cannot even select

file_dotlock_create(~/.dovecot.lda-dupes) failed: No such file or directory
Hi, I am having some problems with my vacation messages using dovecot. The mail is send without problems, and the auto-respond is working as well. But its always auto-responding, because the lda-dupes file can't be created. setacl fails - does not find dovecot-acl file
Hi, I'm using dovecot 2.0.13 that ships with Ubuntu 11.10. I tried setting up a shared namespace as documented in the wiki to enable the sharing of a mailbox between two users. I have a Maildir(++) directory for each user. Each user has a system account. The Maildir of each user is owned by the user's system account and group read/writable by the group mail (hence

doveot reporting "No space left on device" - yet df show plenty of space / inodes.
Hi, I am running dovecot 1.0.rc7 on a Suse Linux server. The server has approx 200+ mailboxes. Last week the filesystem (/dev/mapper/datavg/dat2lv) ran out of space - causing it to do into read-only mode. When I realised this I allocated some more space and re-booted the machine... Strangely it seems that dovecot is still having problems... It's like dovecot doesn't realise that

Effects of going read-only on dovecot & pop/imap clients
Hi all, We need to set our filestore to read-only for quite a while, and I want to mitigate the effects for our clients. First issue; dovecot. If we just change the nfs mounts to read-only, dovecot complains: 2009-02-19T14:03:19+00:00 mail2 dovecot: pop3-login: Login: user=<test2 at markandruth.co.uk>, method=PLAIN, rip=10.15.10.95, lip=10.15.10.102:11002 2009-02-19T14:03:19+00:00 mail2
