(PR#14226) -- Re: libgfortran misplaced in Mac OS X R install (PR#14226)
I am the guy who compiles the OpenMx binaries. We would be delighted to place our package on CRAN, once the project is stable enough so that we are comfortable releasing it to the larger public. Let's try to track down where I made a mistake. Our Makevars.in file contains the line: PKG_LIBS=$(FLIBS) $(BLAS_LIBS) $(LAPACK_LIBS) In addition, on the build machine I noticed that a copy of

contributing llvm-install-name-tool
Hey everyone! Recently there has been some progress on LLVM-based tools for manipulating MachO binaries: llvm-objcopy has been gaining a lot of important bits to support MachO (it's relatively close to the point where one can implement the strip-like functionality), llvm-lipo is functional and supports most of cctools' lipo options (https://llvm.org/docs/CommandGuide/llvm-lipo.html). There

Hey Michael, I completely agree that setting the rpath properly the first time around is much preferred. But, changes to the binary, particularly during development is much quicker. Prebuilt libraries which are being repackaged is one use case that is missed. In the past, I’ve even used it to repair am incorrectly built library which was missing the library name. There are a few different

Mac libgfortran.2.dylib
Howdy, I was under the impression that CRAN took care of automagically making sure the CRAN compiled fortran was linked to the fortran libs distributed in R binaries. Today was the first day I was on a mac without Xcode and found my fortran based package has issues, which appears only on the mac. Do we need to have a special compile library path set in the Makefile to direct CRAN to the R

tcltk image reading problem (on a mac?): [tcl] encountered an unsupported criticial chunk type "eXIf"
I don't know what has changed with Catalina But I just tried my tk console from the shell command tkcon And got the following error. Here is my shell: $ tkcon dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib:/opt/X11/lib/libtk8.6.dylib Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/wish Reason: image not found Abort trap: 6 I don't know whether this is a red herring or not, but the

Rpy2 and Mac OS X 10.8.3
I am having a strange problem. I have been using python + rpy2 on my Mac for quite sometime now. I recently upgraded to OS X 10.8 from 10.6 and that's when the problem began. Now, when I try to load some R packages (like zoo) using robjects.r, python crashes with seg fault 11. Here's an example below: >> import rpy2.robjects as ro >> ro.r(''' library(zoo)

How many decimal places of information does R actually use in computation?
Dear R-users: Hi, I read here ( http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2287616/controlling-digits-in-r) that R is only accurate up to the 15th decimal place, despite the fact that if you choose to display more decimal places, it will. I wonder if R uses the information beyond the 15th decimal place in actual computation. Thanks! Best, Xiao [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

invalid operands of types ‘SEXPREC*’ and ‘R_len_t’ to binary ‘operator/’ with Rcpp.

Possible bug when finding shared libraries during staged installation
Hi all, With the new staged installation, it seems that R CMD INSTALL sometimes fails on macOS due to these lines [1] when sapply() returns a list. The x13binary package has an example [2], reproducible with the following steps: $ git clone git at github.com:x13org/x13binary.git && cd x13binary $ git checkout 663ad7122 $ R CMD INSTALL . (We've also run into it in an internal

I'm not sure if this is the right target to which to direct this post, but I couldn't think of anything more appropriate. I just downloaded the Hmisc package to the Imac that I use. MacOSX 10.4.11 update breaks tests/lapack.R (R 2.6.0)? (PR#10454)
Hello, It seems the recent Mac OS X 10.4.11 update installed a new libBLAS.dylib in the Accelerate framework which either contains a bug itself or exposes a bug somewhere in R's lapack code on the PowerPC G4 and G5. My build of R 2.6.0 executed the tests/lapack.R code succesfully when I upgraded when 2.6.0 was released. After the OS update, it now crashes. This happens both with the version I

Hi all, I tried to load a package which includes a shared object on one of my Macs, and I got an error message below, which suggests that the file " libquadmath.0.dylib" is missing in the /usr/local/lib folder. On my other Mac however, I have no problem loading the package, and the file " libquadmath.0.dylib" is in the /usr/local/lib folder. I wonder where this
