Proposal for O1/Og Optimization and Code Generation Pipeline
When I worked on the HPE NonStop compilers for x86 (we used Open64, not LLVM), we adjusted our -O1 to make sure the source display didn't "bounce around" based on feedback from users. We disabled any optimization that would move things across statement boundaries. We also disabled/de-tuned dead store since our DWARF location list support was pretty basic and with the removed store,

4.0.6 error: AD based DNS cannot be used
I need Bind so that dynamic dns will work with Linux clients. This was OK in 4.0.5. Any ideas anyone? Provisioning with or moving to BIND9_DLZ produces the error: samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ Reading domain information DNS accounts already exist No zone file /usr/local/samba/private/dns/HH3.SITE.zone DNS records will be automatically created DNS partitions already exist Adding

winbind vs w2k8r2, uid problem
hi! can join and see users with wbinfo -u and getent passwd.. On w2k8r2 is identity management for unix installed so there are uid/gid infos inside... winbind uses home dir and shell informations but dont uses uid/gid from ad... why? example: my user has 10000 uid in ad but winbind/getent shows 10003. My config: [global] workgroup = CHAOS realm = CHAOS.LOCAL netbios name = SATAN

Connect printer fails with W2K8R2 error 6d1
I've samba 3.6.6 with cups 1.4.4 running. Printing from XP and 2003 works, by just browsing to the printers folder on the samba server, connecting with automatic download of the printer driver. I also succeeded uploading a 64bit driver using the 2003 server. So 32 bit world works smoothly. When I try to connect from a 2008R2 server, I get "could not connect, error 000006d1".

Samba 4.0.6 update - login issues
I updated all 14 of our Domain Controllers to 4.0.6, and now I am having random authentication issues. Our radius server uses ntlm_auth to authenticate users. Every morning at 3AM since the update, ntlm_auth fails to authenticate. If I restart Samba 4 on the domain controller that the radius server connects to, then authentication works again. In addition, I am running Samba 3.5.10-125.el6

[samba 4.0.6] samba_dnsupdate and samba_spnupdate failling
I have joined a samba 4.0.6 archlinux PC as an additional AD domain controller to an existing windows 2003 active directory domain using the official HOWTO as reference. For DNS I used BIND 9.9.3-P1. The samba PC apparently joined the domain correctly and the database is replicating. But if I look at the log.samba file I see the following messages: [2013/06/23 21:30:44, 0]

upgrade 4.0.6 to 4.3.8
Hello samba users- I've got a long overdue update to my domain controllers. Currently my domain controllers are running samba 4.0.6 on Ubuntu 12.04. I would like to upgrade to 4.3.8. I've read through the update page (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Updating_Samba) and it seems to be pretty straightforward. Are there any other suggestions, particularly from users who have done a

Cross Compiling Samba 4.0.6 for ARM increases size of binaries
Hi, I have cross-compiled just the basic samba 4.0.6 using bitbake recipe for ARM, which succeeded. However the resulting binaries are large in size. I used the exact same configuration options in both the cases. There is at least a 10 fold increase in the smbd compared to native x86. --- Native x86 ---- -rwxr-xr-x 1 pranavd users 92979 May 31 10:57 /usr/sbin/smbd -rwxr-xr-x 1 pranavd users
