Problems with widescreen (16:9) under CentOS 5 w/ xorg-x11-drv-i810-1.6.5-9.40.el5
I am the tech guy for a local library. We have a network containing several diskless workstations. The hardware are these P4 boxes: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SAMBA845V-24-4-R&cat=SYS (We have inserted additional memory, bringing most of the machines up to 1.25Gig of memory, and two up to 2Gig of memory.) These little machines have integrated Intel video chips on their

i810/agpgart problem with X
Hi list, This is my first post to this list so be kind... :) I installed CentOS 3.3 on a Dell Optiplex GX110 over the weekend and found that when I try to start X, I get a problem with loading the agpgart module which causes X to crash out. I did a little poking around Red Hat's bugzilla for RHEL3 and found the following bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=132935 You

ogg123/libao needs to factor non support for mono in i810 driver
A playback of a mono vorbis track on a system using the i810 audio driver via ogg123 results in a double speed playback (chipmunk sound). It seems that this chipset doesn't support mono and while xmms seems to compensate for it, ogg123 doesn't I have a bugzilla report at redhat.com filed on this with more details https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=90433 Regards, Yusuf

Feature request: Multi-head awareness in compiz and plugins
There have been offered several patches in order to forward Xinerama support to Xgl and patches for compiz to make use of it (like iXce's ones, which were ignored). So far the patched up compiz is working pretty good and makes it effectively usable in such setups (aside of that those patches will always drift away from official CVS and need to be touched for each commit). However it seems

[PATCH 1/3] drm: Add separate state structure for legacy, non-KMS drivers
Non-KMS drivers store state in struct drm_driver. This bloats the structure for KMS drivers and prevents it from being declared with 'static const' qualifiers. Moving the non-KMS state into a separate data structure resolves this. Various OpenGL apps crashing in CentOS 5?
Hi All, I'm experiencing odd behaviour with various OpenGL apps I'm (trying to) use. I have an IBM Thinkpad X60s with the Intel GMA chipset, the 945GM to be precise. I have glxinfo/glxgears working normally, disabled composite in xorg.conf and everything seems fine. However, there are a few applications that I use that show rather strange behaviour that I think is related to the same

[OFFTOPIC] Need small PC
This is completely offtopic, but well, I run the list so there :) Please respond directly to me and not to the list, though, to save the people who don't want to listen to this discussion. I am looking for a small PC with very specific criteria; these machines are going into an industrial setting (which I cannot explain in detail); I was hoping someone on this list might have experience with
