Bug#683170: Xend causing high CPU load - starting domU failing
Package: xen-utils-4.0
Version: 4.0.1-5.2
After clean upgrade from Lenny I got xend highly use CPU resources
causing domU don't being created - due to timeouts for vifs and vbds
(mostly CPU Steal Time was increasing - no iowaits).
Tried Xen boot options acpi=noirq|ht without success. Option acpi=off
solved that issue, but performance of the server was horrible. The final
workaround was to

PE850 Interrupt conflicts on CentOS 5 and onboard ethernet and pci-e serial
Hello,
I have an interrupt conflict between a two port pci-e serial card and
the onboard ethernet controllers in a PowerEdge 850.
I'm running kernel 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5PAE with bios revision A04.
In every instance, the two serial ports have been allocated the same
interrupts as the two ethernet controllers.
I have tried many kernel boot options, including acpi=off, pci=noirq,
acpi=noirq.

CentOS Images on AWS with partitions on /dev/xvda1 are awkwared to resize
I'm staring at the free CentOS images on AWS, and seeing that whoever
set those up elected to use a partition for /dev/xvda1 rather than
taking advantage of Amazon's tendency to use "/dev/xvda", "/dev/xvdb",
etc. for each disk and use those directly as a file system.
The result is that if you elect to allocate a larger base disk image,
for example allocating 50 Gig to

CentOS Images on AWS with partitions on /dev/xvda1 are awkwared to resize
I think the command-line is far more flexable then the GUI interface.
I use ec2-api-tools, but the python boto stuff works virtually the same.

Xen 3.0 hypervisor does not boot on my Acer TravelMate 2403 at all

However, with IOAPIC disabled, some important devices, like network
adapter, do not work (because of interrupt problems, I guess).
The problem is smimiliar to the one I have

Back trace from rcutree.c after resuming from S3
Hi,
after solving the issue I had with a DVB tuner I tested again
suspending and resuming from S3.
I am now running Xen 4.2.0 and have applied patches [1] and [2] (any
idea why they are still not in mainline?) over a 3.5.3 kernel. I only
tried once since I upgraded my Xen, but after resuming I got the
following back trace:

[PATCH 7/7] x86: cleanup bogus CONFIG_ACPI_PCI uses
We''re building for one case (CONFIG_ACPI_PCI defined) only, yet still
had the other case''s code in there. Additionally there was quite a bit
of pseudo-duplication between disabled(!) DMI scan and ACPI boot code.
acpi_pci_disabled had only a single reader, which is off by default
(i.e. must be enable on the command line), so it seems pointless to
keep it.

Asterisk & SMP: Is irqbalance Redundant on 2.6 Kernels?
Asterisk users,
I posted the following email to the Fedora users list
<https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2006-March/msg04154.html>
and it got no responses, so now I'm calling on your expertise. Please
take a look at it and share your knowledge on the subject with me.
Additionally, let me know if you believe what I am trying to do is
critically flawed. It's possible

Is: Xen 4.2 and using 'xl' to save/restore is buggy with PVHVM Linux guests (v3.10 and v3.11 and presumarily earlier as well). Works with Xen 4.3 and Xen 4.4. Was:Re: FAILURE 3.11.0-rc7upstream(x86_64) 3.11.0-rc7upstream(i386)\: 2013-08-26 (tst001)
Hey,
I have a nighly build/test system that boots various machines with
upstream Linux and randomly selects Xen 4.1, Xen 4.2, Xen 4.3 and unstable.
After a bit of digging I found out that Xen 4.2 ''xl'' (but not ''xm'')
has some badness in it. When "migrating" (''xl'' save followed by ''xl'' restore'')

joining data based upon a moving time window?
I have weather data that was recorded every hour, and location data (X,Y) that
was recorded every 4 hours. I want to know what the temperature was at
location X,Y. The weather data isn't exactly at the same time. So, I have
written this loop for every location to scan through the weather data looking
for the "closest" in Date/TIME and extracting the data from that time.

CentOS, linux and kernel version
Hi,
I am using CentOS 6.4.
uname -r gives me
3.9.3-x86_64 Kernel version is 2.6.32. My questions -
What is 3.9? In Ubuntu, uname -r and /boot give the same version numbers.
Do we have a mapping of CentOS versions, the numbers like 3.9 and
kernel versions maintained somewhere?

I'm pondering building my own SSL accelerator out of a multi-CPU

What's the recommended hardware crypto accelerator card these
days?
Thanks,

confusion on levels() function, and how to assign a wanted order to factor levels, intentionally?
Dear R-helpers,
I want to make a series of boxplots on several numeric univariates with two
group variables (species and population, population nested in species, and
with population as the X-axis). In order to get a proper order of the
individual populations in X-axis, I need to assign a wanted order to the
factor (population). I used the levels() function to do this assignment, but
it seemed

Problem with Playback sound in 64 bit machine
Sorry for re-posting this message -
I am trying to run the latest stable Asterix version 1.2.4. on 64 bit amd
procesor.
Things are working but the playback sounds that I hear when tring to connect
over IAX are of very high frequency.
i.e a sentence which should finish in 4 secs finishes in much lesser time.
Where can be the problem? any configuration issue?
Thanks in advance.
