Scale & Wobbly bug
Hi. Most of you might not have noticed this bug: I have Shiver as focus effect, set for normal windows too. This way, whenever I select a window it "bounces" to the front. Quite pleasant, and it works while in scale mode too. But scale gives a bug when focus effect and sloppy focus are activated: the emblem icon changes its size and location (it gets smaller and moves to the centre),

[PATCHES] Fixes for java apps and firefox in scale, switcher and wobbly
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've made these patches that basically, make the java apps and firefox items well being recognized by some compiz plugins (scale, switcher and wobbly), I don't know if those can be considered workaround, but this helps in using your desktop tools. Basically java apps are seen as: * name=sun-awt-X11-XFramePeer (default windows = Normal) *

Couldn't activate plugin 'rotate'
First, I would like to compliment you all for a great work you put in developing compiz. I have it running for more that a month and it did not crash. Stability is very good. Great work! Today I updated compiz from git tree and found that rotate generates this error: compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't activate plugin 'rotate' Rotate does not function. Any ideas ? I run gconf

8.2 behaving weird on openSuSE 10.3 & 11.0
Listmates, I installed 8.2 on opensuse 10.3 from the opensuse XGL repository to replace 7.6. Compiz works with the nvidia 8600 GT card (512M of GDDR3) on the box, but the ctrl+alt <- -> switching behavior is really bad. In 7.6, the ctrl+alt <- -> desktop switching changed desktops crisply with just the slightest hint of the cube detected during the very short and nice switch.

Compiz on AIGLX
Last night I reworked compiz-aiglx patch from Kristian H?gsberg to get it working (i.e. patching and running) with latest compiz cvs. Most plugins and features are working again now : wobbly, minimize, resize, cube, rotate, move, fade, scale, place, zoom. However the last two plugins, switcher and decoration are broken. Decoration just draws nothing, I found that the problematic function call is

default plugins
I have checked compiz 0.3.4 for the default plugins. These are as follows: gconf, decoration, fade, minimize, move, resize, switcher it means that not included ones are annotate, clone, cube, dbus, place, plane, rotate, scale, screenshot, water, wobbly, zoom I understand that some of the disabled ones aren't crucial, but I think that place should be included. Without it, new windows open in the upper left

Strange behavior scale and switcher plugin after update
Hi, I have noticed a strange behavior: after the added one of the options "window_match" in scale and switcher plugins; these do not show some windows like gmplayer or amsn's windows This is the output of xprop $ xprop _NET_WINDOW_DECOR(INTEGER) = 20061011, 46149375, 4, 4, 27, 4, 4, 4, 27, 4, 9, 0, 36965, -11, -34, -68, 0, 582, 32767, 0, 0, 32869, 571, -34, -68, 0, 32767,

new plugins
I added two new plugins recently. Nothing too exciting but they might still be interesting to a bunch of people. 'annotate' plugin is a simple plugin that allows you to draw things on top of all windows. It requires cairo and it currently only includes a simple line drawing tool. Patches for more advanced drawing tools like text, rectangles, circles and such are gladly accepted.

[PATCH] Define default opacity windows in Compiz
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 This patch uses the same hacks listed in the "[PATCHES] Fixes for java apps and firefox in scale, switcher and wobbly" message to apply the transparency to the right windows; I don't think it will be merged, but I'm posting it here just as example for other users/packagers; however it can be disabled only setting the default

Question about changing default metadata values (--with-default-plugins replacement)
Hi, Now that --with-default-plugins has gone in compiz 0.5.1 (git), I was looking for an alternative. Although I've personally been using ccp and am quite happy with the GUI tools now (so it will probably become default in my packages), I was still looking for a way to define the default plugins uses if a gconf backend was used. So I patched core.xml.in as follows: ---

Get window textures even when they're transformed.
If I wobble a window and quickly initiate switcher or cube, this can cause weird artifacts. I had a look at Beryl's switcher.c In switchPaintThumb they use this: static void switchPaintThumb(...) { DrawWindowGeometryProc oldDrawWindowGeometry; AddWindowGeometryProc oldAddWindowGeometry; WindowPaintAttrib sAttrib = *attrib; int wx, wy; float width, height; CompIcon *icon = NULL; /*

Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out!
Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out! This is the first development release of Compiz Fusion, the result of more than six months of work and polish. The first stable release, 0.6.0, will follow after the Compiz 0.6.0 release. Problem with decorator and edges
Hi, I've just started using Compiz. I'm running Debian testing on a HP/Compaq nc4400 laptop, and I've installed Compiz from the exprimental repository, 0.3.6 I believe, since the 0.2.2 in testing was rather old. In general I have very few problems, besides having to change my ways of working due to a radically different interface :-) I did run into one thing I don't quite

Switcher bug
The switcher plugin has a bug that I don't have time to track down right now (finals on monday!). If there is no panel running then the switcher correctly disables its zoom-from-corner behavior, unfortunately it sometimes gets stuck and won't disappear until you alt-tab again. thanks -mike

What Happened to Compiz in (compiz-0.7.4-11.1)
This isn't a cross post. Wobbly windows seems to have changed in the last release and for the worse. On narrow windows, title bar now expands and contracts big time which has radically changed the look of the effect. If you grab the title bar on the far left or right and move it around a little bit, the corner where you grab will have exaggerated movement compared to the remainder of the
