OT - mstts.agi - Where to find API key ?
Hi,
I recently discovered http://zaf.github.com/asterisk-mstts/ .
In the page above, it is mentioned you have to subscribe to Microsoft
Translator API on Azure Marketplace.
In Azure Marketplace, I found something called "Microsoft Translator".
This API is free within a 2 000 000 characters per onth limit.
Is this the API needed for MS TTS ?
If not, where and how can I find the good

AGI script that uses google's text to speech engine
Hello,
I have written an AGI script for asterisk that uses google translate for
text to speech synthesis.
It supports a variety of different languages, local caching for the voice
data and wideband audio.
The voice in most languages is female and the quality of the synthesized
speech is very high.
More info about the script can be found here:

Text to speech modules (espeak, flite)
Version 2.1 of app-espeak and app-flite modules just got released.
Changes include voice selection for flite, support for 16kHz file
playback in asterisk 1.6.x, use of libsamplerate for faster resampling,
better error handling and cleaner code.
You can get them here:

agitator - FastAGI reverse proxy
Hello,
FastAGI doesn't get (or deserve) much love these days but a lot of people are still widely
using it. Here is a small project of mine, started trying to scratch my own itch, that
some might find useful.
https://github.com/zaf/agitator
It is a reverse proxy for the FastAGI protocol with some interesting features. Most
noticeably request based routing, HA/failover, load balancing and

Speech recognition in asterisk using google voice API
Hello,
I have written an agi script that uses google voice API for voice
recognition.
The script records from the current channel untill the pound key (#) is
pressed or the timeout (15 seconds) is reached. The recording is send
over to google speech recognition service and the returned text string
is assigned to a channel variable.
More info and dialplan examples can be found in the README file:

TTS in Asterisk on Solaris
Hello Group,
I have been going through all the chit-chat about TTS and the various
engines available to integrate with Asterisk incl. flite/festival, espeak,
Nuance etc but I am wondering if anyone's tried any or all of these to
compile on a Sparc based Solaris platform? If not, then what is the best way
for me to accomplish a production environment TTS service when most of my
servers or the

[LLVMdev] Question about usage of LLVMLinkModules()
Hello Duncan,
Thank you for your reply. I did figure it out in the end. It was a linkage
conflict between the modules. There were some global types that I was
declaring in both modules. After removing them, linking worked perfectly.
Still it's a mystery why I got no error string pointing me to the reason
the linking failed in the first place.

OT - TTS in spanish
Hi,
For an organization welcoming turists (in France), I would be curious to
learn about successful use (with Asterisk) of Text-To-Speech in spanish (and
english).
I took a look at Cepstral's web site and saw there 2 "Americas Spanish"
voices (along a bunch of english voices).
1. In this context, according to your experience, is it acceptable to use an

TTS
aside from festival are there are other TTS engines out there that are
free? I have written a simple script to snarf files from a foreign site
with a really good TTS engine, but there is a lot of latency so I was
looking to use something on my system, however festival is hard for me
to understand (far too mechanical).
Basically the script I have uses sitepal.com's TTS engine (after a

Cepstral/Swift TTS app
Hey everyone,
I was frustrated with the existing app_cepstral/app_swift TTS modules I've
found on the net, so I hacked up my own. It's been working really well for
me so I thought I'd share.
In developing this, I wanted to avoid:
* the startup delay incurred writing TTS output to a temp file then playing
it back
* gluing cepstral/swift to the asterisk module in a way that fubard

Asterisk and Nuance Vocalizer TTS Engine
Hi,
How can I integrate Asterisk to Nuance TTS engine instead of Cepstral?
Has anybody done this? How is the architecture and can Java AGI be used to
communicate between them?

Asterisk <--> TTS server
Hello!
Is there a way to communicate from Asterisk to a TTS server?
I've seen festival.conf, but it seems that it works only with Festival server.
Thank you.

asterisk and TTS ( text to speech)
I have done research and reading around text to speech, and was wanting to
get an updated query of where everyone is with this. I have installed
festival 1.4 on CentOS 3.5 ( system was installed using Asterisk at Home
ISO ). I also changed the directory php application to use the festival.pl
to read the names of those who have not installed a greeting. It works
well enough, though the only voices

TTS engine query
Not being very happy with festival I would like ro get a better TTS
engine. I looked at the listings at:

but I would like to get user input on suggested packages for Linux. Best
performance vs. cost ????
