Compiz-manager script (Was: --skip-gl-yield)
I threw together a very rough draft of a script: (See my compiz-script git repo: http://gitweb.beryl-project.org/?p=users/kristian/compiz-scripts;a=summary ) It's not too pretty, and only really adjusted for nVidia, so it's pretty useless at this point. I've only ever actually used nVidia with direct rendering, so I'll need some input from people with other setups than mine. On

AIGLX Support with nVidia 9625 Drivers
Hello, I'm on a Gentoo machine with the latest beta nVidia 9625 Drivers, trying to get Compiz to work with AIGLX... simply running 'compiz', or even with the addition of any options other than version, causes compiz to detect that it is indeed not XGL, and then segmentation faults... please note that I have only currently tried this with Compiz-Quinnstorm (the latest package available

Problems with Speex Resamplers
How much latency are we talking about? It seems that this issue cannot be easily pinpointed, but if it turns out to be related to the Speex Resampler let me know and I will put it on my task list. - Sherief -----Original Message----- From: speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org [mailto:speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org] On Behalf Of Colin Guthrie Sent: Monday, December 06, 2010 9:47 AM To: speex-dev at

Problems with Speex Resamplers
If you can produce a simple minimal repro that exhibits this issue on some procedural signal (sine wave, etc) I'd love to look into it some more - I'm maintaining a hardened version of the Speex Resampler and would be very concerned if this bug made it into production. - Sherief -----Original Message----- From: speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org [mailto:speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org] On

Problems with Speex Resamplers
Colin, If you're using stereo audio with the resampler, there is a bug that can occur under certain situations (and maybe that's what's been happening to you). Check out: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/speex-dev/2009-August/007406.html With that patch, I've used the resampler extensively in many situations without any problems. [ANNOUNCE] Compiz feature branch compiz++
Hi, I've currently pushed a new branch called "compiz++" to the freedesktop repository, with some features I've been working on during last months. Because most of the features also require (BIG) changes to the plugins, I've decided to put them all together. - No direct access to member variables: Everything is now done with getter and setter functions. This helps with

memory leak bug under ubuntu gutsy w/ nvidia
hi there, a number of users of ubuntu gutsy with nvidia cards are experiencing a serious memory leak under compiz. This leak essentially renders compiz unusable for us. Gutsy ships with a compiz versioned at 0.6.0 +git20071008 , which I imagine isn't that different from the current compiz, and with the current 100.14.19 nvidia driver running under a 2.6.22 kernel. I'm just wondering

GWD button drawing prob-- any Cairo pro have insights?
Since I first tried nVidia's AIGLX with Compiz I've been seeing some pretty consistent drawing problems on GWD's minimize and maximize buttons on hover. It looks like part of the fill is drawn with low alpha. I haven't been able to duplicate it when using Xgl... Here's a quick vid of what I'm seeing:

--skip-gl-yield
Beryl has a --skip-gl-yield ( I think now managed by --force-nvidia, dont really know though), that eases the use of beryl under heavy CPU load. Is this implemented in compiz? Cause compiz is _REALLY_ slow under heavy cpu use for me. Thanks, Joel -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Compiz - Extreme difficulty with MSI nVidia 8600GT
Listmates, I have a fresh openSuSE 10.3 install with all updates installed, the video card is a MSI nVidia 8600GT (pci-e 16). After following the openSuSE nVidia install and the Compiz Fusion install (and after log outs and reboots) compiz refused to start. As shown on the openSuSE Compiz page he file .config/compiz/compiz-manager was created with: COMPIZ_OPTIONS="--no-libgl-fallback

--sm-client-id problem?
Hi, When I try to integrate compiz into the Gnome startup process and pass a relevent --sm-client-id value, it seems (not got 100% proof yet) that compiz hangs the login. This used to work perfectly, but I'm just wondering if there is a current issue with this? Thanks for any input. Col

Nvidia 8600 Performance Issue
Hello all, I'm running a Dell XPS 1530M system with a 2.4 GHz Core 2 duo and Nvidia 8600M GT 256 MB graphics card with 4 GB RAM and Compiz 0.7.2 on OpenSuse 10.3 (KDE) with the Nvidia .169.12 drivers. I have all the usual fixes for Nvidia cards enabled (ARGB-GLX-visuals, Composite) but Compiz frequently slows down the system and certain windows take as much as 2 seconds to refresh. The

adding XCB dependency
I intend to make compiz depend on XCB and Xlib/XCB sometime soon so we can start using XCB where it's beneficial [1]. I'm mostly interested in using it for asynchronous reading of window properties but we should eventually try to use it for as much as possible. Removing Xlib completely might not make sense as we need to support multiple implementations of GLX but getting to a stage where

INTEL_BATCH=1
Hi, Can anyone provide any metrics on how effective this variable is on providing speed improvements on Intel systems? Is it beneficial for all Intel cards or only some? Is it all FUD? :) I'm thinking about this from a packagers perspective such that we can add support for seamless startup/integration. Thanks. Col.

LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 patch fix - any reason why it's not included?
Hi, I was just struggling with the problem of starting compiz while having to use LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT environment variable. In our packages we have a patch that means we do not need to set this variable as it searches also the glxServerExtensions. This is not my patch but it is quite well known, so tracking the original author will not be difficult! Here is a link to the patch:

Problem with shadows and the new NVIDIA drivers
Hi all, I've been trying out the new NVIDIA drivers and everything seems to be working great except that shadows are rendered incorrectly - as solid black (or what ever the shadow colour happens to be) without the gradient effect. Setting the opacity level of the shadows makes no difference. This occurs with Beryl too, but I don't think it's actually a bug in either program but
