O/T div.fieldWithErrors styling
this is kinda trivial but I''m anal and it bugs me :)
whenever there''s a error in the form the error field is wrapped with
<div class="fieldWithErrors"> </div>
this throws my form''s styling off because it puts too much space b/t
fields and worse makes the form as wide as possible. How do I fix
this? I''ve tried
div.fieldWithErrors {

Need help in waveslim package: imodwt and universal.thresh.modwt
Hi:
I have encountered problems with imodwt and universal.thresh.modwt and cannot find any reference in R Search. Hope someone can give me some ideas:
Starting with
modwt.la8 <- modwt(xdata, "la8", n.level=6) <-- this seems to work fine
(1) ydata <- imodwt(modwt.la8)
will always give ydata as numeric(0) (no values) instead of being a time series data with

3.0.1x, "min password lenght" deprecated, smbpasswd
Hallo @all,
since 3.0.10 parameter "min password lenght" is deprecated. If removing
the entry from smb.conf, the default of "min password lenght = 5" is
used. smbpasswd uses this entry if creating or changing passwords.
How can I set a min password lenght of 2 characters without the
deprecated parameter when the passdb backend is smbpasswd?
Think "min password

RV: By sentence
Hi dear listers
Do you know how to made a mean by one or more categorical variables?
I can do that quite easy on SAS by in R I just can't do it E.g.
Some fishes
Sex Lenght
male 15
fema 20
fema 17
fema 19
male 18
So the idea is mean(Lenght) by sex, in order to have sex: Male
mean=XX Sex: Fema mean=YY
In this case is quite easy to do it by a loop, but I have a huge DB
so is not an

Function definition: where is the error in the "for" loop?
Dear all,
The following function code fails with errors (see below):
RegPlots <- function (data, ContrVar, RespVar){
intNmbrRows<-length(RespVar);intNmbrCols<-lenght(ContrVar)
par(mfrow=c(intNmbrRows,intNmbrCols))
For(i in 1:intNmbrRows){
For (j in 1:intNmbrCols){
RegGraf(data,ContrVar[i],RespVar[j])
}

Create a hyphen-separated set of letters derived from a string - How to?
Hi,
This is such a trivial programming issue, but I can''t find a way to
transform, say ''abc'' to ''a-b-c'' without using pattern matching.
Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance,
Richard

bizarre seq() behavior?
Is there any rational explanation for the bizarre seq() behavior below?
> seq(2,8.1, lenght.out=3)
[1] 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
> help(seq)
> seq(2,8,length.out=3)
[1] 2 5 8
> seq(2,8.1,length.out=3)
[1] 2.00 5.05 8.10
Except maybe that it is early in the morning :)

questions re. patching bcmxcp.c and choosing variable names
I've patched bcmxcp.c such that it can power cycle the outlet load
segments independently on a Powerware PW5125 UPS. I presume that it will
work for any XCP protocol UPS with 2 load segments.
Should these instant commands be called
outlet.1.shutdown.return
outlet.2.shutdown.return
?
Where do the descriptions displayed by upscmd -l come from? Presently it
shows
outlet.1.shutdown.return -

export
I have a problem with the export of a simulated matrix (nrow=1000, ncol=492). I want to obtain a .txt file with fixed format data (five character for example).
I've tried to use the instructions: options(digits=5) followed by write.table(...), but the .txt file reports always the data with different lenght, whereas the matrix in R gives right result (i.e. the elements have the same lenght).

[MacOSX] Firefox Not Diplaying Images
Forgive the random question, but for those of you Mac OS X users...
Does anyone else have a problem with Firefox 1.5 not displaying
pictures/graphics embedded on web pages. Safari doesn''t seem to have a
problem with them.
For example, my blog appears correctly in Safari, however Firefox
drops background images.
Clues? Thanks.

prcomp() and the lenght of PC:s
Hi,
I would like to know whether there is some deeper rationale behind or is it just an established practice that the lenghts of principal components, giving for example by prcomp-function, are normalised to 1?

Way to interpolate a variable sent to $()
Hello all,
I''m new to prototype and javascript isn''t my strong point. I''m trying
to get a simple test script to work, which is turning out to be a
little harder than I thought. I have a bunch of fields that I need to
be able to switch on and off using one of a few hashes. In the example
below I''m trying to get one to work.
The problem occurs when I try to

RJS removing content of div, but not div itself
Hi,
I''m creating a list of ingredients on a page. When the user clicks the ''Add Ingredient'' button a record gets added to the db and the ingredient gets added to the page. On the page, each record is represented by a <div> with three <span>s inside. One of the <span>s has a link_to_remote to ''delete'' the ingredient. When the link

Paragraph tags around <div> blocks
For those of you who are expert you may chuckle over this.
Perhaps if it's in the record, however, it may help someone else.
I was getting cases of

<p><div id="content"></p>

Yes the div tag is starting at the first column
